Update: Ron's last eppy is April 23.  Cwikly&Ford start April 24,
per Jason's post on the writers thread:

Checked with the publicist today and she said his last episode is tomorrow and they start 4/24, so that puts him at 1971 episodes.

I find that I am nervous. Like starting a new school or job. Today's show seemed long. Not that I minded. I did not. Great seeing Susan coach Belle & the result being EJ waking up.

Now, Xander, whoa, how furious is he?!!! Mad at Vivian, Phillip, Alex, Stephanie & we know he would be at Sarah except he still doesn't know.

April 23rd what some of us said all along.

It was announced Jan. 1st via Stephanie Slone (tvinsider) with Janet Drucker
that the Cwikly/Ford episodes would begin airing April 24,
which would have made April 23 Ron's last episode.

It was announced in April (tvguide/tvinsider) via Stephanie Sloane interview with Cwikly/Ford that their episodes would begin airing April 23,
which would have made April 22 Ron's last episode.

That is why Jason47 contacted the Days publicist to clarify.

YES. I KNEW THAT. I simply pointed out that some of us got the information many weeks ago, and, gee, golly, wouldn't you just know it, that we were right all along, kind of a gentle irony.

Not sure why there was so much confusion about Ron’s last day but whatevs. The day we’ve been waiting for since last July is FINALLY here!!!!!

And what a coincidence that Ron’s last day is a classic Ron/Jamey shitfest, with fluff, filler, people acting out of character, Leo and Javi making me want to vomit, Alex and Xander looking hot, Alex being an arrogant douche, Stephanie being nothing but a doormat/little woman, etc.

And I can’t help but wonder if there was a reason why he was fired right in the middle of the hospital fundraiser arc 😂

And yeah, I’m also not sure why single guys like Brady, Philip or even Doug III aren’t part of the Bachelor auction but whatevs. Hopefully, it won’t matter sooner or later.

I actually am a little interested in the potential conflict for JJ/Gabi that was started today, but mostly because, if they go there, it’s going to be handled by different writers and not RSW’s #1 fan 🖕

Regardless, tomorrow is the start of a new day and I’m really looking forward to it. We finally made it, y’all! 😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉

Well, I am glad today is the last day.  It's extremely obnoxious that Leo and Javi think it's appropriate to spend $100's of dollars for a date with Alex when they don't feel the need to pay Rafe rent.

I assume Gabi chips in so I am fine with her bidding to make JJ jealous.

JPL looked exceptionally tan today.  I don't know if he needs to go that far with the self-tanner lol.

I agree; buh-bye to the uncreative, stale-ass excuse of a head writer. I am ready for the true fixing⏤which is ten-plus years overdue⏤to begin to happen.

Well goodbye to my beloved Ron Carlivati. He’s moved on very quickly to another job.
I hope the Latest Plan To Save Days works out. I truly do. How many times have we been through this? The exact same people who approved Body and Soul and Ron’s other stories are still there. Thankfully Drucker will be gone in the coming months. She was just riding it out until her retirement. I don’t expect anything miraculous. Prove me wrong, Paula & Jeanne!

Donna, that's exactly what I said in my post -- I said that it was announced January 1st the correct date, published interview.
Stephanie Sloane quoting Janet Drucker about the writing change date.
Everyone has known the correct date for 3 1/2 months.
Public information.

The confusion happened because:

  • very recently, Stephanie Sloane announced a different date, via her Cwikly/Ford interview -- which was one day off. This same interview was in both the TVGuide print magazine issue of mid-April and also on tvinsider.com website article of April 21st.
  • But soaps.sheknows had a Cwikly/Ford interview of April 21st which maintained the original date.

Which is why Jason47 investigated and learned that the original date was correct.

I do realize that some SON members don't read the spoiler threads, so they may have missed both interviews (Jan 1st, and mid-April).
Both interviews contained spoilers, so they were on spoiler threads.
So, in that context, I guess my statement "everyone has known" is inaccurate.

Anyhow, regardless of the correct date, or who said what when, Ron is finally gone.

And, like I said, I knew, but now for some reason, I guess, I'm not sure about that, what we have here is you posting the same information, yet again. So, when I said that I knew, that did not change into not knowing. Nor will it. So, not only do I not know why you are posting the same information again & now again, I also have no clue what kind of a reply you expect to be getting from me. I'm not trying to in any way interfere with you posting whatever you want to post but I am still at a loss because like I said I know & I knew & I'm not going to suddenly un-know. And, yes, frequently I do not read spoilers. I have a laissez faire approach to them. If I find them out, fine. If I don't, fine.  But, to be absolutely clear, I knew what the date was & I knew that a different, presumed by me to be wrong which turned out to be accurate, got posted. None of this was a problem.

Not arguing.  I don't think anyone is right or wrong here.  No intention to sound accusatory to anyone.  I agree that none of this is a problem.

Just clarifying.

At this point, it doesn't matter anymore anyhow.

I mean Ron scrambled so much DAYS history.  That's more important than the scrambled reporting in the soap press about his exit date.

Edited by janea4old

Today is April 23rd & what day is that? Yes, it's

"WE'RE FINALLY FREE OF CARLIVATI!"

Freedom from Ron!

Free to be a real soap again!

I thought this day would never come ... but it did!

Do you guys think it will be easy to rebuild... or was the soap very badly damaged by this writer at this point?  What directions do you want to see changes in?
