I think Jen Jacob is deeply meh and I'd still be willing to recast several roles (her, Martin, Naomi) with minor daytime names, a la what Generations did almost a year in in much more dire circumstances. But I really can't see a pressing need to keep the Ashley character at all beyond 13 weeks tbh. (My regular suggestion of Eden Riegel would pull way too much focus for a white character anyway, plus she's a bit too old.)

I'll be curious to see what the show's canvas looks like after May sweeps.

Yes, in the real world Leslie would have been put on a mandatory 48 hour psych hold at minimum and she probably would have had her true identity exposed during the patient admission process.

Honestly, the only two roles I would recast at this point in time would be the roles of Derek and Martin, both of whom are lacklustre. And I'm always going to say "no" to Riegel, who I never want to see no my TV screens ever again.

Aww that look said it all. And more reason for the focus on Jacob and Naomi in the first episode as a couple.

I believe it is exactly 48 hours in all states. They can't legally justify holding you longer than that. It's 2 days for evaluation. Law enforcement can only hold you for one day without enough evidence to bring charges. (rather than "at minium")
