That's what they should've done. She was playing that material well opposite Kate Mansi this time last year, their conflict was strong stuff that made Kristina a more grounded heroine IMO. Then she regressed dramatically.

Natalia is a short-term part they've tried to inflate so FV can keep Eva LaRue and say she's on his show.

GH was just amazing! Carly almost coded & was in a coma & they had to create the poison antidote in the lab & then this guy ran with it & handed it in the hallway to Jack who then ran the rest of the way to Carly's room to give it to Dr. Isaiah who administered the antidote!!!

Thanks. That does sound familiar. She was very green on Loving but very likeable.

Thanks.

I wouldn't be surprised if Eva just joined the show because of the promise of sharing material with Maurice Benard and didn't follow most of the rest.

And now she says they're trying to soften her character but "there's a bump in the road coming up"? Plenty of characters on daytime have been redeemed, but I don't know if it's possible to come back from "hateful homophobic mother." I don't care how many gay kids they give her.

It's perfectly possible to redeem a homophobe. Many shows have done it. GH just doesn't want to because they decided to keep Eva LaRue and are too lazy to do anything but try to whitewash the character in the least nuanced or honest way possible. She barely ever expresses complex remorse and the instant Natalia got exposed for her beliefs the story became about how she was the victim. Cut to two months later and they want to pretend she's GLAAD Mom.

Well, hello Marco

I do wish he wasn't

And Lucas/Van was looking very cute and adorable today too

I'm still gonna feel so bad for Brad though when he sees the two of them together, even though it seems like they're trying to make him campy at some points in this storyline and I don't think that's working. And I do kinda like Lucas and Marco too

As much as I dislike retcons, instead of this whole Brook Lynn and Dante at summer camp thing, maybe they should've had rewritten Carly paying Brook Lynn to seduce Dante in 2010 and had her get pregnant with Gio as a result of that.

Valentin, Sonny, and Joss are just annoying.

I think you can probably try to redeem Natalia. The problem is she said a few apologies to people and she's mostly being redeemed through Sonny.  And even I am not naive enough to think Sonny liking her and giving her two gay children is enough in 2025.

At this point, Natalia could march in the Port Charles Pride parade, wearing an Indigo Girls t-shirt, and reciting entire chapters of "Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit" through a megaphone.  I just. Don't. Care.

That would have made sense - it's not as if there is anything holding back a Maria appearance (and Frank could have cast another generic piece of ass to play Sam).

That would have made sense, although didn't she drug him, so it would have been rape (if GH now considers women assaulting men to be rape).

I prefer Chris McKenna’s Brennan to Mesure’s at this point. He has chemistry with LW, which most actors don’t.

Lot of smoothing over retcons in the dialogue today: Valentin explaining to Sonny why Brennan forced him to tamper with his meds, Brook Lynn explaining to Chase why her previous fling with Dante didn’t come up when she tried to break up him and Lulu later on.

Some nice work from Swickard, too.

    • -- Tamara Tunie was good today, but can we hold back on handing out Emmys? I'm not seeing that yet. -- So Anita has Barbara's entire letter committed to memory, yet it took her DECADES to reach out to Tracy and Sharon? Uh....ok. I don't get the impression that THE DUPREES spent a lot of time thinking about the little people. -- We again heard "Articulettes Strong," this time in the letter. Make it stop already. -- I'll wait and see on this "Anita's Sin" story. My bottom line is that it's unfair to point blame when someone takes his/her own life. -- I thought Tomas looked fine af in that suit today, and that the fit was perfect. -- Why is Basic Ashley kissing her boyfriend while at work in the hospital? I find that inappropriate and ridiculous. Ashley still doesn't act like someone in love. -- The 3-way conversation among Ashley, Derek, and Andre was awkward as hell. -- Hayley was embarrassing for taking her pregnancy test to Dani's. Dani is embarrassing to harp on it. These two need to stay away from each other. -- Dani treats Andre like crap. What he sees in her beyond the physical, I have no idea. No way is either of these two in love. -- Also clueless? Bill and Hayley for thinking Naomi would love hearing about the pregnancy.
    • Susan Lucci was on bereavement vacation because her on screen mom had recently passed away so she was off canvas when this tornado occurred.
    • Thanks @YRfan23 Wow I didn’t realize the cast has gotten that tiny either which is absolutely pitiful.    Surprised that Budig is still on as Taylor barely watched any lol tbh but nonr of the recent daily recaps ever mention her anymore I figured she was out the door soon.
    • I love the yellow bumpers with the crew lol. That's Donna Lewis as the music at the beginning! I haven't heard her in ages. R.J. and Tea were so hot and so underrated. I remember seeing the bit with the Buchanan men promising to show Max a good time in his bedroom and it's still hysterical.
    • I think a lot would've gotten over it the same way they got over the Trina recast, especially since it became swiftly clear NAC is never coming back. The key issue, we agree, is Frank. As long as Trina is onscreen he's not touching that. As for Nikolas, honestly I'd kill him off. Adam Huss has done a wonderful job in a very difficult situation but I don't think he has leading man power for a soap opera (not because he's gay, but he's very intense and I don't think it translates to potential lighter or romantic material; his flirting with Ava briefly was strange) and I was holding out for Tyler to recover and return someday. I am not interested in Nikolas #5 or 6.
    • AlwaysAMC - Your posts are a crack up; they make me laugh.  Thanks.  I especially like how detailed you get enthused about something, and how you curtly and flippantly you reject that which you find subpar.  LOL.   What's great about Annie is her increasing rooting value as time goes on.   I often wanted Annie to be victorious.  Watros infuses her with an energy and a vulnerability that really works, even at times when neither should. Soap viewers often remember and talk about the Big Moments, which is fine, but what I also find really interesting is the 1-2 week time frame that follows the Big Moment.  Later, there are scenes between Annie and Rick involving a trip to the hospital (no way am I telling you why and what happens - hopefully no one does) that I think are as well done as the Big Moment.  Astonishing stuff. Oh..and to reiterate...I ain't telling you sh*t.  You'll just have to suffer!  Ain't anticipation grand?  LOL.
    • @alwaysAMC Glad you made it to the soft rock theme. I share your disgust for the Gilly story, as many viewers did. Gilly was never a big character, but she was a part of why the early '90s feel real and different for GL, and she deserved a much better exit. This was also the last worthwhile role Amelia Marshall had on daytime (I don't even know if Passions fans would disagree). This was also Petronia Paley's only major chance at story and as someone who always appreciated her work, I'm sorry it did not go better for her. And I liked Charles Ewing a great deal on Loving, so I was even more unhappy with how they treated Griffin. It's a deeply offensive role, in many ways.  As for slapping, you may enjoy this, if you are able to find anything onscreen underneath all the ham. It really goes into hysteria in the second clip. As a bonus, you also get a quick glimpse of why the Billy and Mindy recasts were not accepted by viewers. One positive I will say about this clip is that it's one of the few times I remember the show making clear that Roger was able to defend himself if he had to do so.

    • ER Season 15 (first-ish time) BUFFY Season 3 (First time)
    • Probably less than a NBC or ABC soap. There were occasionally slaps. Women slapped men. And parents occasionally slapped their children. There was a period when Mindy and Roxie would fight. But slaps between women were few and far between. The only one between women I can really recall is Vanessa slapping Nadine. There was once where Bea Reardon almost slapped Vanessa, but she didn't. There are probably more, but in general, I always thought CBS soaps (aside from B&B, which used to love Stephanie slapping Brooke) shied away slapping, sort of the way they limited "hell"s and "damn"s to so many per week.

My favorite moments are with Erika and then Robin and Tim Stickney around 7/8 minutes. There are also little yellow bumper moments with the crew, which I enjoy more than the real ones.  There's also a music video at the end to I Will Survive, with Linda Dano and JFP having a cameo (they certainly do know how to survive). Also a fun bit with a frazzled crew member showing cards with the names of every EP she presumably worked for at the show (or maybe just every EP, period).
