GH: February 2025 Discussion Thread

Boy, this Sidwell stuff might just be the dumbest storyline on the show right now, and that's saying something. What's more, it's making most of the characters involved with Sidwell seem much dumber than they should be. Sasha comes up to the table of Deception execs and says, "Why are you doing business with this man? He kidnapped me and held me in a room with a bomb," and Lucy just brushes it off, and Natalia kind of shrugs and rolls her eyes a bit like, "Yeah, that sounds like my ex-husband!" And it doesn't help that Carlo Rota plays Sidwell like a Dollar Tree version of a James Bond villain.

I've been a bit sick for about a week so I am not 100% fresh, but I literally fell asleep at 1pm while watching GH today.  I was that bored.  It was just a power nap, but I woke up and saw Natalia and Sidwell with Lucy and Maxie looking like a pilgrim and I realized I missed nothing.

I was cheering for Ric when he yelled at Kristina. Alexis should’ve intervened and backed him up.

The Molly/Cody stuff is working for me, mostly because both actors are funny and resourceful and don’t sleepwalk through scenes.

Yeah, I felt Ric was really speaking for the audience when he told Kristina point blank that she needed therapy. (Too bad that GH's resident therapist has temporarily departed for places Beyond the Gates).

If Kristina calls Irene "her daughter" one more time, I'll push her through a window. And it won't be up for speculation who did it/if it were an accident. Lordy. At this point, just appoint her the head of the Corinthos organization and call it a damn day.

I thought Ric was being totally obnoxious & add to that it was one of those times that GH does this thing where the guy takes over when the gal is perfectly capable of standing up for herself. And, God knows Ava certainly is one who can & should fight her own battles. To me it was a clear case of STFU, Ric! And, sit down, while you're at it.

    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.  She is trolling this thread.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
    • I said this on Twitter on Friday when Leslie mentioned Chicago, so perhaps she might be related to one of Anita's bandmates. In addition, Leslie did say she grew up listening to The Articulettes too.
    • There was a scene in the past week or two with Leslie looking at some papers and mementos, which included an invitation or souvenir from Alan's memorial service or funeral -- it was dated as November 2024. Me just guessing but it seems to me that Martin's nightmares about the accident are from something longer ago than November.
    • ah thanks! do you know who the third one was in the blonde? the fifth one i know ive seen before in the brown wig but i forgot, and then ive never seen the psychic one before lol
