Yeah.

Between the Lucky recast, Brennen recast, and Spinelli setting Lucas up with that model or whatever this was a rough episode.  The Anna and Jason scenes felt hours long and I don't like when we get "wacky, silly" Mac.  Obviously, it goes without saying the show gets negative points for Chase singing.

Such a terrible choice, and I have to believe there was a way to avoid this. Huge error.

Guy Wilson actually did a good job as Lucky, so I don't blame him. This is on Frank.

I think they succeeded in making Aiden look younger, but they also made him look a lot less hot.

Agree about the Anna/Jason scenes going on too long. And why was Jason still in handcuffs?

Mac with the migraine was played out after the first two scenes with him, too. Chase? I like his voice, so I was OK with the singing, but not with Brook Lynn acting so SHOCKED that he was on stage.

Best part of the show for me? Dante and Lulu. I think those scenes worked.

There was way too much of Anna/Jason talking about how much they value one another as friends.  It's weird GH.  Please stop.

I agree about Dante/Lulu.  I meant to add that in my post.  They were definitely the best part of the show and the conversation helped walk back a lot of issues I initially had with Lulu's return.

Yeah... today was a weird one.

Maybe it wouldn't have been as weird if most of the people featured didn't only appear like once a week or less. It's also like they tried to make today campy, but GH often fails miserably when they try to do that.

I found Anna absolutely hilarious though. Like, girl, the PCPD lost all credibility a very long time ago

Tobias is a cutie pie. Too bad we won't see him again for like months lol hopefully I'm wrong though. Aiden's storyline deserves to be seen.

As for Lucky and Liz, I'm glad the characters finally shared a kiss but yeah...

Does Frank or whoever really expect some fans to not feel this way after he spent the better part of a decade erasing Lucky from the lives of Liz and her boys?

NASTAAAAAAAASHHHHHHHHHHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, yes, YES!!!! LOL. It's been toooo long. My way of saying how much I loved the Jason/Alexis scenes. I'm always here for Nastasha. NLG has been a bit of background so her in focus will always be fun. And SB has been knocking it out of the park for me as Jason.

As for the rest...after I rolled my eyes over the pants in flight...

Thank you for the heads-up, Contessa. Because I guess I really and truly do not care for Natalia at all that I missed the reveal of Natalia and Sidwell being married when she was off in L.A. with Sonny. I thought that was set up well surprisingly here (and ELR was looking fierce AF in the wet hair, dark dress when Sidwell was at Deception). I even gasped since I thought it was JUST a relationship.

But this is the first time Sidwell actually came across as if he was purposely running around all over town to get tea on everyone. I know he did with Lucy. That was obvious. But now seeing him with Lucas and Lulu makes me wonder if he had already did the research on PC residents and was faking his knowledge. Intrigued though I still don't like the character (though I do like the actor).

The Ava vs Sonny scenes would have worked perfectly...if we had gotten the Sonny's Meds storyline followed by them going into the custody suit BEFORE Kristina's accident. Then this split custody would have been a nice coda to them. As it was...you all were right. That came across as lazy writing. Very reminiscent of around this time of year the last few years when someone would start messing with the writing momentum and put things back into 'factory settings.' A waste of a lingering plot thread with potential. UNLESS we are about to get crazy Kristina...which the last scene of the episode (and the scenes with Liz a few episodes back) might be hinting at.

I liked the Stefan mention. But we know I love Stefan.

I thought the Lulu/Kristina talk was good, too. I guess it goes to show I like Kristina in a supporting character mode still.

And more rme throughout for Molly/Cody (I'm shocked they didin't put JK in boxers...time of year be darned) and Sasha/Dog Lady P.I. Though I did like the twist of the Dog Lady P.I. warning Sasha due to Sasha saving her life (even though Sasha was the reason she was in danger in the first place).

Overall a meh week for me. I felt that wacka wacka creeping in and just like the mess that Y&R made of their stories last week, my side-eye apparently was shady.

I was discussing that (as a joke mind you before pictures dropped online in one of the spoiler threads ) it seems like we got temp recasts whenever an important beat or climax of a story happened...which I found odd because given how the block filming seem to be...couldn't that be set up at a different time since it's not the first time these folk stalled a story out til forever? I think LK (outside of the Baby Irene funeral) has always subbed for unimportant scenes to me as well.

And as someone mentioned above...also what happened with Alexis at the climax of the Harmony storyline, too.

And it just seems weird since if it is to be believed that JJ is back here for LnL2...he would be good and ready to play that beat especially.

And even if he was not here...fans of theirs would have been waiting decades for that kiss. Common sense have to had told someone to WAIT. Why play in people's face like that?

I was SO pleased at the sight of Natasha peeking out of Alexis!! Please GH, and NLG, give us more Natasha, Alexis's Cassadine side!!!

Sadly, I have come to believe that Frankie is not going to bring on either Blaze or her brother. What we've got is UGH Sidwell as the Natalia connection. And, Natalia is about as popular as one Laurel was on AMC. Which is to say NOT popular.

Aka the defart setting.

I still say we're not there. We're due an amazing crazy scene. We've been due it since Watros signed on.

I like Chase well enough but when he sings, he reminds me of someone from a Disney band. I thought the character background of that family was meant to be somewhat grimy.

The little shown of them was sweet. I have to admit I was distracted by whether or not Aiden was wearing a wig.

    • Oh, I know it was. I was just talking about how it's not giving me parallels to Caroline dying. It's really as far from it as possible.  But about the foreshadowing - Hahahhahah. Yes. And you missed one - Liam googling - "what is cancer"... on google.
    • GH 2-17-21 Denise Alexander's last appearance https://www.instagram.com/p/DJdjXgwJ1Ez/
    • @Maxim This Liam dying out of the blue was crafted in a hurry for three reasons: 1. To facilitate JMW's leave 2. To prop Steffy - 'Oh, Steffy has so much grace and moral superiority that she ignored everything that swine HoLo did to tell her for the sake of their daughters. Queen Stephanie would be so proud of her!' 3. Distracting Steffy enough to give Lunacy an easy way to slither into Finn's life. Once Luna discovers that Lame is dying, she'll play that card: 'Dad, life is too short and precious!' If this was an intentional story, we would've had the typical B&B foreshadowing - Liam faceplanting into a bowl of pasta, Lame missing meetings, being forgetful. Instead, Lame does an impulsive quick quit and $B doesn't even care enough to make a single attempt to get him back? Please.
    • https://www.tvinsider.com/1180503/denise-alexander-dead-general-hospital-lesley-webber/ Alexander made her soap opera debut as Lois Adams on The Clear Horizon in 1960, but her big break came in 1966 when she was cast as Susan Hunter Martin on Days of Our Lives while still attending college at UCLA. As Susan, Alexander played a host of dramatic tales, including murdering her husband David Martin (played by Clive Clerk) in May 1967 after the death of their son. “She started out as the bad girl and was thrown out of boarding school for smoking and drinking,” recalled Alexander to We Love Soaps TV. “The character caught on and sparked something with the audience, and that is how Susan became an important part of the show. I was there for almost seven years…. I had such a wonderful time on Days. It was like going to camp every day for me. I loved the people, loved the show, and loved what I got to do. They loved the character and liked me as an actor and gave me lots of neat stuff to do. I didn’t even ask for a vacation for five years because if I worked 365 days a year, I thought I was great. It was a very good time in my life.” In 1973, Alexander was in contract negotiations with Days when ABC offered significant perks to the actress to join General Hospital to play Dr. Lesley Williams. Though Alexander loved her time in Salem, she decided to leave. “It was [Days’ Executive Producer] Betty Corday who sent me to General Hospital,” Alexander told welovesoaps.net. “She said, ‘You must do this.’ So when I went to General Hospital..."

    • Now that GL and LOL synopses are being added I'd welcome requests for specific soaps from 1976.
    • By 78 NBC daytime was struggling. They knew what the issues were but failed to make the changes needed to get those young gals watching.  Jan 78 Plans for NBC's daytime programs - which are in third place -are apparently less well defined at the moment. Michael Brockman, a former daytime programer at ABC, took the position of vice president in charge of daytime for NBC just a few weeks ago. He and his chief assistant, Mary Alice Dwyer (an associate of Mr. Brockman at ABC), are in the process of analyzing the network's schedule to determine where to begin making changes. One thing Mr. Brockman knows, he said, is that NBC needs more women18 -49 (NBC is currently last in that category in daytime). "Whatever you design," he said, "has to fundamentally appeal to that demographic." He indicated, however, that he is less concerned with the network's afternoon serial block than he is with its morning game show and rerun mix, and, like his counterparts at the other networks, Mr. Brockman discounts the notion that recent drops in daytime viewership may be attributable to the one -hour serial form. The first changes were indeed in the morning. In April 78 Card Sharks replaced Sanford and Son reruns at 10am and High Rollers was introduced at 11am knocking Wheel of Fortune back to 11.30 replacing Knockout. Sanford and Son moved to noon replacing To Say the Least. On paper that looked like a stronger schedule. The next move in July was the disastrous America Alive at noon, replacing Sanford and The Gong Show, which set them back even further. Finally in October 78, Jeopardy was brought back at 10.30 and Hollywood Squares moved to 1pm replacing another flop For Richer for Poorer. The only major change for the soaps apart from cancelling FRFP, was Linda Grover as headwriter for The Doctors as of April 78.
    • Yeah, Ben and Evie don't start interacting in a 'we're going to pair them together as a couple' way until Feb/March 1977 when she recommends Ben paint a portrait for Jackie.  And Evie's working for Jackie so she and Ben interact and start to become friends.  That happens after Tim breaks up with  her and she's forgiven her sister.. and he and Hope break up after he covers for his younger brother for a crime that he had committed.  Jackie does come onto the canvas in December 1976 and the first months are her trying to snag Mike while she and Justin seem to play a cat and mouse game with one another as he's trying to restart things with Sara again. I often wonder if the Phillip story only came about because the show was going to be expanded to an hour.. and the Dobson's deciding that some of the new characters they were introducing could be tied to Justin/Jackie's back story.
    • Seems like the Dobsons were aiming for a Joe/Sara/Justin triangle or, having decided that Joe would be killed off, Justin would be waiting in the wings. But that never came to pass and I don't think there was much reference to Justin/Sara as time went on.That was something that could have been used later on but Doug Marland may not have known or cared. Also, when the show went to an hour they could add a lot of characters and not rely on the stalwarts, hence Jackie/Alan/Elizabeth. And after Leslie died, Mike went into Dad mode with Hope. Hope/Ben never took off and Hope was replaced and then dropped and Ben moved on to Eve, whose romance with Tim fizzled and Jordan Clarke left (by choice?)
