Hehe. Erica Kane.

That said...I saw a lot of flash, but no substance. But now that I'm getting an 'ear' by what to expect from which HWs' names is first, at least I know now who to throw blame and shade at moving forward as the characteristics of what the plot is for the episodes become clearer. And that works for me cuz that means I know who is bringing that stupid humor style I keep loathing that has started to crop up again. Because outside of the Erica Kane shoutout, it was soooo not needed. And while I don't like how things are going with Carly/Brennan, those scenes of them arguing really should not have come across like a scene from a CW show or any teen soap, but yet...smh.

Now that I see what you all are talking about with Felicia...and given what happened with Dex when he mentioned his suspicions...DON'T YOU HURT FELICIA, YOU HACKS!!!

Then it felt like the momentum got lost with Lulu's Awakening. We should still be dealing with her adjusting. But now it is turning into the 'Where's Charlotte?' storyline. And AB is selling that Spencer spitfire and that mama's love, but I just don't care for Charlotte. If she ain't coming home before X-mas, they could have saved this part of Lulu's story until next year and build it into February Sweeps. Right now, Lulu's story should be about adjustment and getting more time with her mother and her brother(S). Cuz no amount of good (cuz Lulu vs Nina WAS good) takes away from the overall plotting.

Which is also why I was disappointed to see Brennan found out about that bug with the quickness. And while that was also built into the plot, it still felt too soon for me. But I will always take Charles Mesure in that suit cuz Mmmm Beast. It's contrived for the sake of it when there are other ways and conflicts they can use to build Carly/Brennan into a couple.

And the contrived techniques continued with the story with Trina and Kai. So he surprised you by having his part of the art project ready and still focused on his football teammates...his goals AND your goals...and Trina STILL has an issue. There could have been a way to do that where you see a hint of respect and maybe love? start from Trina's end, but it just felt so contrived though I'm liking Trina with a POV. But I still wouldn't mind since Trina is actually getting story, the story turning into a triangle between her, Kai, and Gio.

The only good Drew is a shirtless Drew for me because I loathe him any time he popped up on screen now. So funny from how I felt about Drew in the spring. He's gone from a prick to a creep and it's very ewwww. But giving Q at least. And I admit that the idea of a Michael/Curtis Drew takedown looks intriguing this episode. Perhaps because it gives Curtis something to do...and it looked like DT was actually invested again.

Okay...NOW...Brad is coming across as a stalker.

And I admit...I am loving the X-mas-ness of the last few episodes. Not the stupid college kids. But I love seeing Felicia with her grandkids. And it just reminds me how much good writing James and Georgie got this year that I actually go awwww now when they are on being kids. Makes me think of the old days of soaps when kids were not too much SORAS.

Those Lucky/Liz/Ric scenes were fantastic, I like Liz getting all of this attention from her exes trying to play hero and JJ and Rick H have solid adversarial chemistry.

I like to hear it since we know I love me some Liz.

They would need to be actively trying to lose viewers to kill Felicia at this point.

I agree. I don't think she's as important to GH as Frankie Frame was to AW, but social media and the internet means the blowup over a Felicia death would be huge.

I swear they refurbish the same script for Tracy every two weeks, how many times are she and Sasha gonna do this same dance?

The scenes at the end of the show with Sasha and Tracy were nice, but that opening scene was awful. All that screaming over eggs made Tracy look insane, and I think that was overdone.

I have no use for Laura and her brothers. Martin suggesting they use Cyrus to help find Charlotte just sounded dumb to me and MEK’s antics get old after a couple of episodes.

Thank you. This show doesn't need Martin any more than it needs Cyrus. I don't think MEK ever fit on GH, and that's one salary I'd dump.

Yeah, I see nothing, but backlash to anything happening with Felicia. Now an attempt to kill her might be drama, but I expect Felicia to put up one heck of a fight. And SURVIVE.

All right, Historian, I see you.

This episode still has some of that goofiness (in this case Martin/Anna/Jason), but there was a more emotional resonance going on. Or perhaps because a good amount of this episode was back to Lulu adjusting to her life post-coma.

And that reunion with Maxie resonated so hard. And the scene with them on the couch and Lulu was talking about love. Her vibe. Her looks. She was giving so much JMB Lulu...I had to remind myself it was not the same actress. Those scenes were well done. I've even enjoyed Carly and Lulu defualt (a little) to the Mini-Carly she used to be. AB has just been selling the Lulu return so well.

Sadly, Lulu's story has gone from background C plot to just B plot because it now seems the A plot is 'Where's is Charlotte' rme with the focus on Anna/Jason and Brennan/Henchwoman this episode. I didn't mind it at all. Anna was actually being like herself again. Though the execution with Jason/Martin was that 'style.' But I thought it was clever how they are going about tracking Charlotte down. But I also thought it was clever how Brennan plans to track Charlotte down as well. I think I have gone on record as saying how much I love right-hand henchwomen...preferably evil ones...but this henchwoman of Brennan can leave. And while I don't like Pikeman being mentioned, I do love that the writers have not changed the throughline in case it was not clear (but given the writing battles we know why) that Valentin WAS the Head of Pikeman. And as always I live for Charles Masure in a suit. And I also live for a cameraman who is good at angles. ;)

The Curtis intrigues brought the C plot. And I loved him bringing Portia in on the know. But it's sad watching Drew and Nina now cuz of the woulda coulda shoulda of it. And now they just seem to be slowly going back to their old pre-PM beat of just disliking each other. Drew continued to be more and more slimy. But I'll give it to the cameraman again because halfway thru the episode well...I was surprised. That was uh abrupt.

You know it's A plot when it gets the coda in the weekly episodes. I just can't believe it's about Charlotte...

I saw the scene where Sasha told Tracy apologizing wasn't enough at this point. I was impressed by the work from Sofia Mattsson. I think she has a likeable presence and is a good actress - she just lacks a lot of spark.

I saw that name and went RME. But let me give CVE some credit. Throughout the episode, there was a sense of dread over that Q X-mas party. So that I can't hate on. There was a sense of something WAS coming. For me, it was just the execution.

Like mentioned above, if this was old school soap, the video reveal would have happened at a big event. People dressed to the nines. And a few other secrets coming out at the same time. And I honestly felt PM doing Drew as a Congressman who had eyes for Nina AND her daughter was setting up for that to happen Election Night. So just about anything other than THAT was going to pale. And given the buildup to Drew/Willow sex to Michael/Sasha sex to the video itself to the story vanishing for two weeks and just simmering as a C plot to THIS. Overall, anticlimactic. Episode-wise, it was decent in how it built to it.

It was just destroyed by the pacing and the nuts and bolts. Why did it have to a grumpy Tracy thing rather than a crafty Tracy maneuver? Why couldn't it just be Michael going dark rather than trying to be all meek about it? Now Drew wants to go obsessive and lash out at Nina after NO buildup? How can Chase/BLQ be flirty like that and yet I feel nothing?

And I assume that alarm at the hospital means Dex is bye-bye. Well...at least, Joss got some couple moments before it happened. And I really loved him bonding with Felicia over this past week of episodes. It felt organic even if it was a plot thread to make Felicia the next target.

They have been teasing Natalia's son for a year now. So I expect him to spring up at some point. Perhaps as a love interest for Lucas? In any case, I'm not here for Sonny and St. Maria of the PushUp Bra...which is how Blaze's mama is now being written.

Since when does Ava not have money? If not from her family or the art gallery...or Sonny...then at least from the divorce for Nikolas??? I admit...I'm curious. That said...I love the seductive dance going on between her and Ric.

And because I can't say it enough...SHUT UP, KRISTINA.

Cannot believe they repeated the same 'twist' with Cyrus and Nina in the church from last year, only with Sidwell and Sasha this time. This is what I mean about these boring crime characters being interchangeable. Please fire everyone in this creative team immediately.

Amanda Setton is enjoyable when she goes on the attack as Brook Lynn. I almost forgot she had it in her. More of that and less hand wringing please.

Anna is easily in my top 5 GH characters but she never cried this much during the 80’s. I do not mind it some of the time, but her blaming herself for Dex and crying in her office was just such bland soap writing. She deserves better.

Sonny is back to being the town grandpa, out here giving pep talks and money to the church. Ridiculous. I kind of feel for Maurice- I think the show through all the turmoil has completely lost any trace of Sonny, Jason, and Carly’s characters. Carly less than the other two. I don’t know who this person is supposed to be but it ain’t Sonny Corinthos.

Bringing Rick Hearst back was a great move. He has a certain energy that none of his scene partners have, so even a bland scene sort of crackles with energy.

A lot of this is on Finola at this point IMO. I've said it before - I love her, but it's like she came back in 2012 determined to show more emotional range and prove she was not just an '80s superwoman during the Robin saga. Finola is a great actress, and it was understandable for the character to be vulnerable during a good deal of that storyline. But since that time Anna has choked up and wept over everyone from Carlos Rivera to Sonny and Jason to Dex to just getting a hangnail. I wish someone would take Finola aside and say she has nothing left to prove as an actress and it's time for Anna Devane to toughen up again and stop sobbing through scene after scene.

Never. At all.

It's always the same thing on so many levels.

Frank falls in love with the actors he gets to play too many roles and refuses to cut them, so these weak, often unthreatening villain characters linger on for years doing nothing and spinning their wheels with bizarre, wildly inconsistent writing. Cyrus is a dangerous mobster despite coming off like a geriatric old man! No, he's Laura's long-lost brother tortured by the accidental on-purpose auto-vehicular manslaughter of their father in the family driveway (seriously, who cares)! No, he's a fake man of God claiming redemption! No, he's legitimately found God and reformed! No, he's Dr. Kevorkian! And on and on and on.

They did this with Julian too, except that was from the network and allegedly not FV. And now Sidwell is NuCyrus and not just in this totally Xeroxed plotline, mark my words. Sidwell will turn out to be Natalia's ex and the remorseful father to their kids, or some such nonsense while still doing evil shít, all because Frank doesn't want to fire anyone and creates the weakest, most cuddly yet invincible bad guys who spend years eating up airtime with crazily ping-ponging stories. I'll give you a preview of the next few years right now!

November 2025: Sidwell and Natalia struggle to reconcile with their traumatized children for Thanksgiving as he pleads to make amends.

July 2026: Sidwell runs over Jake again, for fun.

February 2027: Sidwell begs his son for another chance to be his dad.

Hire me now, Nathan Varni! I've got plenty more!

I actually enjoy Sonny/Sasha scenes.  I think Sonny has always gone out of his way to support her and I surprisingly don't think he wants to sleep with her.  It feels like one of Sasha's more real connections to the canvas even if they don't share scenes much.  I agree about not knowing who Sonny Corinthos is now as a character though and I could go on about that for paragraphs.

Rick Hearst definitely adds an energy and a spark to a mostly listless cast.  I hate Ric, but you can feel the enthusiasm and delight RH brings to playing the character.

It’s like all the tears JJ had in his last return got transferred over to Finola. It’s exhausting to watch as an audience member.

Only because he can't be sure they're not related!

Sonny murdered a man a few months ago and is so untouchable of a character, I don’t think he even thinks about it at this point and everyone in the town just forgot the most obvious person did it. Grandpa Sonny doesn’t work for me and neither does untouchable mob boss Sonny. Dead Sonny now we’re talking.
