Yeah… they’re really trying to make us hate Drew right now lol even though I think he has a point about Jason’s parenting, or lack thereof.

Kai seems ok so far, but him and Dex are no Cam and Spencer. GH still hasn’t seemed to get that memo yet

And yeah, despite the propping today, I still hate Carly’s kids 😂

I absolutely believe it wasn't her only job offer.  She had a lot of buzz post-PC

I am just stating the obvious about her GH role.  I am pretty sure it has been publicly stated or at least is an open secret that Sam finished out the bones of the Brenda story when VM left after her contract expired because Guza thought VM was going to re-sign.  You can pretty much entirely place Brenda into Sam's story the first year and imagine how much better it would be.

That being said, Sam hasn't been a Brenda clone to me in years.  Brenda would have more energy and not be lethargy on screen like KeMo often was.

Yes, she was hired and forced on GH by Frons. They decided to ignore PC and make her a new character because Guza was not going to deal with the supernatural stuff, even with Pratt there. Neither was JFP. And Frons agreed with leaving PC behind. The network also wanted to keep Easton. Each soap got one of them- KM on GH, Easton on OLTL, and Thorsten Kaye at AMC after PC was cancelled.

Of the Brenda bots, KM was the best. Still thought she was better as Livvie then and now. I was actually excited when she was going to GH.

Those clips were very interesting, because they showed she did used to try. And a strong reminder of how misogynistic that era of GH was, with women just always at each other’s throats, often over the same man- Jason.

Just what I wanted. An episode to end with Sonny doing his “menacing I’m talking about murdering someone” voice when he was talking to Jason about Drew.

Didn’t care one lick about Kristina and Joss bonding. Joss doesn’t bother me the way she does others here because I had years away from the show that I’m assuming she was her most prominent. And her airtime is barely there these days. But Kristina, despite my love of Mansi, I can’t stand at all. I’m so annoyed every time she’s on screen using the wrong baby name. They better never have Molly just accept her sister doing this in her face, dead Sam or not.

Absolutely loved the Drew/Jason/Alexis scene. The show would be so dumb to waste this sort of antagonistic chemistry by killing off yet another one of Jason’s brothers. We also have no Quartermaines in the Drew age range. No one should count Jason.  Who despite being a Hitman, still got to throw in a lick at Drew acting like a Quartermaine. 🙄

I would feel worse for Michael if his first impulse after finding out about the kiss wasn’t to go f.uck Sasha.

I actually haven't considered Sam a Brenda bot in years, but that's where she started.  It's a testament to KM's popularity and I guess skill? lol that she was successful in moving out of that role.  The deck was really stacked against her after bombing pairings with both Jax and Sonny.  I think both Easton and Kaye got better roles from the outset depending on how much you like either character.  Sam was always just a character more tied to her pairings than a fully formed female.  The only thing I can tell you about Sam to this day is she liked leather and motorcycles.

Oddly, Sam was probably at her most interesting and dynamic during the summer of sleaze. She could have worked as a venomous, give no f.ucks vixen, but they had no interest in keeping that up and it was back to years of JaSam after that.

The show could be very misogynistic and mob-centric in those years, but many of the woman still had distinct personalities and relationships. That's the difference between too much of the show today.

I think both John and Zach on OLTL and AMC were real mixed bags at best lol. John had a decent intro period and early romance with Natalie at first before it quickly got bungled, but it was also bound up in a very flawed storyline that alternated between being gritty and true to life or hilarious and campy depending on the day (the Music Box Killer). His earliest material with the two Walker/Todds, Atlantic City follies and Natalie the pool shark didn't help either. After mid-'04 I lost all interest in John and pretty much considered him dead to me til GH rolled around, where he actually fit.

I haven't seen any of it in decades but I'll be the lone wolf and say I thought Jax and Sam could've worked at the outset if they'd stuck to the initial brief which was high adventure, treasure hunting in the '80s GH mold, etc. Or at least Sam herself staying in that mold. When Kelly first appeared on the show she looked dramatically different from goth queen Livvie, was cleaned up and scrubbed and looked for all the world like a young Ali MacGraw to me. It was striking. The Dead Man's Hand thing got real silly real quick but they still could've had more fun with her or those two. Instead, because the network had forced it by giving them a squish name at the outset in promos with no audience support ("Jam! Catch it from the beginning!"), because Guza already hated Jax at that point and Frons had bigger stars to move her on to Sam instantly got turned into a mob moll/Brendabot. It was so obvious at the time too, they were desperate to get Maurice competing with Carly and Lorenzo again with a big star. And it was gross and didn't work. (I even seem to recall something about Sonny pulling a magic sword from a stone as part of one of Sam's capers - imagine inserting him into classic GH fare like that.)

Her vixen era was Kelly's only great period on the show.

It is ridiculous people let her do that. It's got to stop.

I don't really have enough experience with watching McBain or Zach, but they seemed to get a lot of story.  I can't say if it was good story lol.

I actually think pairing Sam immediately with Jax was a huge mistake.  I don't exactly think they lacked chemistry, but Jax's character was at a low.  The way he treated both Brenda and Skye very recently left him with very little favor with the audience.  Even myself being a card carrying Jax fan back then was like, "Whatever, Jax.  You deserve to be alone and bilked out of your fortune".

I can't concretely remember anything about Sonny/Sam except the elevator scene where TB's Carly tells her she's a replacement for Brenda because they look the same in the dark.  SAVAGE!!  I loved TB's Carly back then.  Honestly, Sonny already looked old and creepy next to Kelly because Carly and Brenda were already significantly younger than him and KeMo is even younger.

I would argue that's the only scene anyone remembers or cares about from that whole pairing. It was brilliant. And yes, Maurice already looked old next to her. Which is striking when you go back and look at clips, where he looks vibrant compared to today lol.

I was wishing that Jason was having the conversation he had with either Diane or with Carly, both having their own obvious reasons. Not Sonny! But, I did feel like I saw the ole Mo as far as Maurice bringing his particular method to the madness. No mumbling, no fumbling for words, not looking around, actually focusing on his scene partner & being totally present.

Jason & Alexis & Drew: Jason is right. Alexis is full of it. Drew meh.

Some fans are wondering if Diane was working on a new will for Sam. They think she had a Sam will out on her desk recently. I confess to not seeing it if it was shown.

You know that's all I remembered from the pairing lol.

I don't even think Mo looked that old.  I suppose he was still a viable male lead at the time, but it was getting close to closing time for Sonny 2 decades ago.  Kelly just looked so young and fresh back then that I was like get away old man!  Lol.

The pivot to move her towards Jason was pretty brilliant whether it was a Brenda plan or not.  I think we both know Guza was salivating at the thought of his faves Brenda/Jason together though.   SBu and KeMO always did have solid chemistry.  There is only so far you can go when your personality is laid back biker/mob wife/danger junkie at least in Sam's case.  They really should have kept her as a grey character or spicy villainess from 2007.

I always found them boring as hell simply because Jason is generally such a test pattern and Sam was his obliging shadow. Sure, they had chemistry; I just didn't care.

Alexis meeting with Jason and Drew over custody of the kids was good stuff. The tension between the twins is fascinating. I’m team Jason but the way Alexis dressed them both down then tried to goad Drew into giving her custody at the end was smooth manipulation.

Poor Dante is so lost. I’m hoping this custody story ends with him keeping the kids all together.

Kristina considering going to work for Sonny was interesting. If they start pivoting her into the mob world after all of the death and trauma I’d be here for it. I liked her scenes with Joss at Bobbie’s but now that she’s acknowledged the good Joss did for her after the nasty fall, I need the show to circle back to Kristina’s bisexuality and have her make some moves on Dex to reignite the beef with Joss lol 🤷🏾‍♂️ 😂 cut all the happy shared family nonsense let these ladies tussle

The Kai and Dex height difference was hilarious, I’m sorry. I continue to like Kai so far and its good to see the younger characters focused on themselves instead of their parents again. Hopefully Trina continues to soften up on him more after this episode because the constant attitude is getting stale.

TJ and Jordan scenes were just okay, same with Michael and Sasha. TJ should be allowed to give Kristina and Ava more hell and same with Michael so far when it comes to Drew and Willow.

No Lulu today was a disappointment and so was her not being in the previews for Friday. Way to kill momentum.

And very typical of the FV taping shuffle. It looks like

Spoiler

she is going to break out of the hospital disguised as staff to escape Cyrus.

I hope we're not in for another tiresome Lucky in Africa sojourn where we have to wait weeks to see her with her loved ones.

I actually found them charming in the very beginning, but haven't cared about them in years.  It was a bit tragic/funny when Sam got shot in the uterus and still had multiple kids.

They were both so lowkey as actors at a certain point after the initial stuff that I just couldn’t handle it. Also the quad eating the show didn’t help.
