Next week is a short week and no holiday classics. I'll be getting a lot of stuff done in the two days without Y&R being on

PB 35th anniversary is November 27 but he's not getting a special episode that day it seems. Maybe his anniversary episode is the following week then.

The way these three men share the same women is so gross to me. Same with how much Jack and Victor loved sharing women. And Jack also has been with Sharon/Phyllis//Sally. All he needs is Chelsea and he’ll be one of the cool kids too.

That fuckin OCD story and the constant job changing is why I dropped the show over the summer. Honestly Sharon thinking she killed Heather and Ed Scott coming back to help with production is the only reason I started watching again.

Re-watching the reveal of the Newman Ranch, I couldn't help but realize the flashbacks (pre-HD especially) were much more shadowed and neutral in tone. So, while the refreshed production model (both pre-Edward J. Scott and post his return) is a return to form... it feels a bit off, still. And I tweaked it a bit.

So far, the highlight of this week has been MG. Daniel has been ON FIRE!!! Lighting into Sharon like a X-mas tree!!! Getting aggressive with Nick. The fury. Like mother, like son. I love it!!!

I do love how this all is slooowly coming out about Sharon to others. And like Nick, I want to shake her, too. But that said...I can't help, but feel that this is sooo typical 80s heroine. No benefit of the doubt and being selfless. And my ears perked up when Ward mentioned Sharon's KIDS. So is Mariah about to be roped into more of the story?

Yeah, I could care less about Billy outside of Jill. Has she left town? So I was over any scenes of him with Sally, Chelesa, and/or Adam.

See, Diane? I told you you should have signed the papers and been sure there were no loopholes in the contract before firing Kyle. What ace does Victor have up his sleeves now?

And just to be shady...I know we didn't just bring Elena back to be Giggly Heffa's nursemaid? Cuz...

Nope.

Can't have that. Billy is the STAR.

RME.

Uh oh. I saw that look Chance gave when Kyle and Summer were talking. Chance, you are attractive AF. Don't get insecure that Kyle and Summer might get back together. But CF gave good acting today. And I was sorry to see him and Summer arguing. Not unexpected, but sad nonetheless.

Expected for sure, but annoying as heck...Billy trying to beg for his job at Jabot. And then making it all about him because Jack didn't want to tell him what's going on. BOY, BYE. I'm so over Billy and his whining and the fact that Victor won over him AGAIN. And I'm sorry Sally is saddled with him.

Oh, lord, Giggly Heffa has awaken.

Hehe. It has been slower this week for sure. With the case of Sharon and Phyllis, I didn't mind that because it gives the aftermath of the car crash to gradually unfold. And that has been what I've been finding the most interesting this week.

I know what you mean...lol. I don't feel this has been a Sleeps Sweeps this year so yay for that!!! There has been a clear direction since Ed Scott has returned. And I liked that it appeared to show in the writing because for a couple of weeks there, Y&R was THE soap I looked forward to watching Day of the most.

If I disliked anything this week, it's been too much Billy. lol. Saying that though, my mind immediately went to the idea of Billy vs Kyle Part 3 given they are both without jobs.

Yeah. I felt overall it was an okay week. But compared to last week, it was a less than.

Outside of the aftermath of car crash and how it's shifting Sharon's storyline, it just felt like it was there. Back to that 'puzzle pieces' vibe...which I reserve for GH these days actually. lol. I can only assume that it's to build everything up again, but last week had such good momentum.

I actually found Giggly Heffa to be a little toned down. At least on her tics. MS felt very controlled even as she was going off on Chance. Surprising me, I kinda liked it.

I thought the Victor/Adam/Nick scene was interesting. I've been around for most of Adam being on the canvas outside of Justin Hartley's run so I find him being IDC about Sharon to ring false. It drove Chelesa cray cray in fact. So it was just odd. Nick was in character. And Victor was Victor-ing. hehe.

So disappointed Billy and Sally finally slept together. Sad for Sally at least. But I'll give JT this much...he looked good in his blue jeans. Just not here for Billy's pity party. And Adam seeing them as the cliffhanger to the week. Uh oh.

Well, preview for next week looked good, focusing on stories I would be more interested in.

Hehe. Well...GOOD.

    • Mid 1979 to mid 1981 was A+ quality for the show.   I even found things to like about the show in the final year or so when the quality had somewhat declined.
    • From what I heard, the actress playing Leslie opted to leave so instead of recasting again.. they killed her off.   Holly brought it on herself by lying and pretending Christina was Ed's child.  Although I do think that Rita's actions with withholding that message from Ed weighed upon her.   Even though she won Ed in 1976, she realized over time that she never truly had him. There was no Rita/Tim/Evie triangle.  Tim and Evie dated after Rita broke up with him (which happened before Evie and her mother came to Springfield).  Ironically Tim did to Evie what Rita previously did to him... leading someone on that you're not interested in.
    • I mean, he is but he's also still an ásshole.
    • The most beautiful thing about getting into a new soap opera is getting to know the characters yourself and figuring everything out slowly. And EON is one of the easiest when it comes to that. Pretty soon you are so well oriented in who is who and what are their motivations. I only struggled with the episodes before Mansion of the damned started.  Then after that it's pretty smooth sailing.
    • I don't hate Hayley but she would absolutely cry about falling for Jacob.
    • @BroderickThank you for the reply. Such acting that they Sharon Gabet and the actor playing Draper still played their relationship after it's over. I picked up on it even though I had no idea about their history. That's such good acting/continuity.  Raven has just moved to London and a custody battle is now brewing for Jamey.
    • Ha-ha-ha, I thought it was Marland who turned Mike into a jerk, but apparently not. I get that they probably felt the Mike/Leslie story had run its course, but they should have at least let them have a kid. Especially since they were soon ensnaring him in a storyline with a woman who couldn't have children (Elizabeth). Of course, no one could have predicted there would be a dearth of Bauers a few years later. I remember this! I remember Holly sitting by the phone, desperate for Ed to call so they could stop the divorce. I forgot it was Rita who never gave him the message. What a bitch.

But, yeah, this is the Rita I remember at the beginning: very determined to bag Ed. I contend that Holly never, ever got over it, never stopped regretting that the divorce went through. I wish at some point over the years they had let Holly and Ed reunite for more than a brief affair. It feels like a thread that was left hanging. There she is! I was beginning to think I had dreamed up the Rita/Tim/Evie triangle.
    • In the interview posted on knotslanding.net, William Devane described the Greg/Paige storyline as "juvenile".  From that interview I also got the impression that William Devane was on his way out near the end so he wouldn't have returned if there was a season 15.
    • Just started this show. I’m on episode 3. I’m starting to make the connections and understand the family tree better. Still will take time to fully understand everything but it’s exciting. So glad we have a new soap opera in 2025! Excited to join the discussion once I’m caught up.
