I was actually impressed with that scene too! Mostly because it seems like the show barely affords to let U/5s utter a word and yet we got to hear this bartender speak! I want to believe that’s also a touch of Mr.Scotts work. Him just saying “screw it” about having to pay extras to talk! Haha

I noticed that! The extras just doing more. Like just recently they made it a point to have them react to jack and Diane's fight and Phyllis yelling at Nick.

That scene in tomorrow’s US episode also ended almost like an old-school scene with the music (granted, not classic Y&R music) blaring and Phyllis making an over the top proclamation, lol. Only thing missing was the old way they did the EP credits after the fade to black.

Here it is for those who want to see it ahead of tomorrow:

Maybe the classic music will slowly make its way back? I mean we got some during the Nate/Nathan Sr flashbacks, though i guess they already tend to use classic music only when they show old scenes.

I wonder what happened with that, they brought a lot of the old cues back from 2019 to about 2021? I think the last time that wasn't a flashback was when Diane was scared out of her mind about Jeremy Stark.

The Billy stuff too I think had that feel.

Spoiler

When he was with Tracy and Alan, talking about how the gloves are coming off and he's prepared to battle Jill if he has too.

Grrr...Traci enters Crimson Lights and walks through an empty space to meet Alan in the back area. Why not just have her come into that space and not show the lack of customers?

I'm glad this episode dropped quickly cuz that HD was something else. And it warmed my heart to see Ed Scott's name. Did it look different? It was slight, but yeah, I see what you all meant. For one, it looked like he took the walls at Crimson Light and the Abbott house and expanded them out. There was a moment where that back area where the booths are at Crimson Light looked wider and same for the doors that go into another section at the Abbot house by the stairs. And I don't recall it being like that at either location. And then that camera angle through the stairs as Summer let herself into the house while Kyle and Claire were making out...totally old school Y&R

That said...the highlight today was Phyllis vs Sharon for me. I agree that MS played it toned down and that made her even more menacing. Like the Phyllis of old. And that I didn't mind. I would love to see her go farther in THIS vein...especially if it brings out Mal Young's Sharon who threatened to make Phyllis the 'one who's left in a puddle.'

I was so bored seeing Kyle and Claire about to have sex...until Summer walked in. And I can't believe Summer! lol. She's happily coupled with Chance (who IMHO is more attractive). Why she all up in Kyle's busines? And so soon after they had finally gotten to a good place in their co-parenting. Just ugh. But...potential drama.

I was over Billy/Sally. She deserves better. That said...I did like the history references (Y&R Billy loses the Jabot boat, Sally, Steffy, and the foodfight over on B&B).

And that ending...MMMMM. BRING ON JILL!!!! I'm soooo ready.

Glad to read your thoughts as always!

I definitely agree it was actually interesting to see the Phyllis/Sharon stuff for a change with Stafford for once was toned down and wait for it, not giggling either!

Kyle and Claire are indeed boring but it was at least fun to see Summer just kind of break it up lol. Sure she has her own man in Chance but in a way it still serves Kyle right that he has to be at her beck and call lol. Actually Claire deserves better than Kyle anyways lol Kyle is such a weak manchild she really should be using him the same way Summer and Audran have

Disappointed the show is going forward with Billy and Sally. UGH, but hey I can’t wait to see Billy get a deserved whipping from Jill! ❤️

Yeah, I'm shocked to be so caught up. lol. It does help that it has been interesting as of late for the most part. And having Ed Scott back is a godsend.

Amen on Giggly Heffa.

Claire really does. This would have been interesting if she still had her edge, but alas. I think the boat has sailed. Heck, Summer and Kyle still have spark, but you know I love her with Chance.

Same. Sally deserves so much better than that whiny boy. And he will explode if Adam finally wins her back.

Hurricane Jill hitting town in 3...2...lol.

I have to admit, I've been invested in the business stories.

Aunt Jordan causing Nikki to relapse, her getting close with Jack. Him overdosing on pills to help. Victor getting pissed and grooming Kyle. Victor and Audra snatching Glissade away from Tucker. Now Diane's back to being a bitch supposedly and teaming up with Victor.

Yeah, I've enjoyed for sure Victor weaving his web for the last few months...all because Jack helped Nikki.

Felt like Ron Carlivati took the wheel for a bit there. At the same moment it was revealed her therapists evil twin caused Ashley's psyche to split, Victor had Jordan in a dungeon torturing her with Brussel sprouts. 🤣

Ed Scott has already brought this Board to life! I mean five pages of discussion on the second day of this month's episodes... Wow!  Can't wait to see where this takes us.  Hopefully, some more old school Y&R.  Love the new "old" Newman Ranch set so much.  Please work some magic on the Chancellor Estate set.

Without Stephanie Williams recreating the role , was there any reason to make this role Amy?

Will she'll be reconnecting with Traci or Lauren, the only two characters still around from her time on the show? I doubt it.

She could have just been a woman who had a brief relationship with Nathan at some point w/o the (so far)pointless return of Amy.

I'm pretty sure I've never said a good thing about Billy Abbott since Jason Thompson took over the role. In fact, I'm positive.

but he's been GOOD in this Chancellor story. Good like I've never seen him be on Y&R
