That scene in tomorrow’s US episode also ended almost like an old-school scene with the music (granted, not classic Y&R music) blaring and Phyllis making an over the top proclamation, lol. Only thing missing was the old way they did the EP credits after the fade to black.

Here it is for those who want to see it ahead of tomorrow:

Glad to read your thoughts as always!

I definitely agree it was actually interesting to see the Phyllis/Sharon stuff for a change with Stafford for once was toned down and wait for it, not giggling either!

Kyle and Claire are indeed boring but it was at least fun to see Summer just kind of break it up lol. Sure she has her own man in Chance but in a way it still serves Kyle right that he has to be at her beck and call lol. Actually Claire deserves better than Kyle anyways lol Kyle is such a weak manchild she really should be using him the same way Summer and Audran have

Disappointed the show is going forward with Billy and Sally. UGH, but hey I can’t wait to see Billy get a deserved whipping from Jill!

Ssssh.

Yeah, I'm shocked to be so caught up. lol. It does help that it has been interesting as of late for the most part. And having Ed Scott back is a godsend.

Amen on Giggly Heffa.

Claire really does. This would have been interesting if she still had her edge, but alas. I think the boat has sailed. Heck, Summer and Kyle still have spark, but you know I love her with Chance.

Same. Sally deserves so much better than that whiny boy. And he will explode if Adam finally wins her back.

Hurricane Jill hitting town in 3...2...lol.

I have to admit, I've been invested in the business stories.

Aunt Jordan causing Nikki to relapse, her getting close with Jack. Him overdosing on pills to help. Victor getting pissed and grooming Kyle. Victor and Audra snatching Glissade away from Tucker. Now Diane's back to being a bitch supposedly and teaming up with Victor.

Ed Scott has already brought this Board to life! I mean five pages of discussion on the second day of this month's episodes... Wow!  Can't wait to see where this takes us.  Hopefully, some more old school Y&R.  Love the new "old" Newman Ranch set so much.  Please work some magic on the Chancellor Estate set.

Without Stephanie Williams recreating the role , was there any reason to make this role Amy?

Will she'll be reconnecting with Traci or Lauren, the only two characters still around from her time on the show? I doubt it.

She could have just been a woman who had a brief relationship with Nathan at some point w/o the (so far)pointless return of Amy.

    • Not trying to be a contrarian, but I don't think the show needs a rival family.  Rival families have been over-done on soaps since the 1980s. And it might make the show too predictable.  I'd prefer they beef-up the have-not group with perhaps a couple of workers from the Country Club and one or two Dupree servants, joining the existing group of have-nots.  That would give the audience more opportunity to see Fairmont Crest life from the "backstairs."  To me this would be a far more interesting perspective than another wealthy family to rival the Duprees.
    • I wonder if that's why Valerie quit. I think some of the magazines at the time implied issues with Valerie and the producer, although I may be wrong. Painting Diana as going bad would have made more sense to me near the end of her run.
    • Carter & Thomasina were also stuck with a baby almost immediately and didn't get much to do after they finished high school. Carter's father was killed off and Marley drifted out of their friend group because of Jake. They left town after Carter's father died (of tomb dust!) and before Quinn died (unreasonably murdered by the Sin Stalker for dating Zack Edwards).
    • She most definitely would. And I would enjoy watching it! Yes, I agree, that was a very touching moment in her interview. It helped me feel much more connected to her as a performer. I also got the feeling from her, Live with DD, that she wanted to go deeper in conversation.
    • It really does feel like JG is getting off on torturing Shick fans.
    • That part I am not sure about, maybe Depboy might know?  The thing to remember about the show at that time was, it was so plot-driven and desperate that characters and their motivations changed virtually overnight.  There was a period of time where Diana Taylor suddenly became a bad guy and was in cahoots with Cameron Faulkner (toward the end of Valerie Starret's portrayal), which I HATED.
    • I'm going by clips so it's possible that the fan who did the editing made it look a different way than it was.
    • I’m sure Trisha-Mann Grant would love to play those layers too.  It stuck me when she said in an interview that she could identify with the pain Leslie carried because she was a single mother of two struggling with no help raising her kids at one point. You can tell playing Leslie means a lot to her, as devious as the character is (which I’m sure is fun to play for any actor)!
