This take may make me an ass but I am so glad Luke is not here and Laura/Lucky /Genie/Jonathan will finally have story since 1999.

Giving money doesnt make someone a Dad. If said parent aint in their kids life, they are just a sperm donor.

Lol!  Well, at least Jason pays for his kids.   I think deadbeat dad can have a broad meaning and Jason certainly checks off a lot of boxes.

Sonny/Natalia are so gross.

I hate Joss 99.9% of the time, but I would be super mad if Lucky trashed Bobbie's and I had to clean it up too.

I am not going to lie, I actually do enjoy Lucky/Jason scenes.  I think against all odds JJ/SBu have a convincing friendship or at least understanding.  They both suck right now and it's clear this is all emmy bait for JJ, but I do like them as an unlikely duo.

I love that Molly is the voice of reason about Sonny for the entire audience, but every other character (Anna) is like

he has an alibi and Carly NEVER lies lol.

I’m honestly over all of the Jagger Cates murder debacle, glad the trial will start soon so all of this is done by sweeps. I did enjoy Molly demanding Anna investigate Sonny though and loved the Claudia mention (I want SJB back on my screen soap universe pls make it happen somewhere)

Carly and Jack is my favorite pairing she’s had since RH was on as Todd. The hijinks with the PI was silly but I enjoyed it and I like Felicia having Carly’s back. They said they’d work on a friendship after Bobbie died and I’m glad the show has still maintained that.

Sonny and Natalia, yawn. The way they have Kristina act like she barely cares about Blaze after all those months we watched them together is just so funny to me, she looked so disinterested when Natalia gave her the tour update.

Jason and Anna just brushing the kiss off was kind of disappointing but I think this was only intended as a stunt moment to cause some controversy from the audience so whatever lol.

I loved Joss giving Lucky hell for trashing Bobbie’s, he deserved somebody calling him out. Nice that she still protected him when Dex and his trainer popped up to file a report. The scene with Dex Molly and Joss…I see where the train is headed just hope TJ doesn’t get parked to the side.

Lucky is being such a coward trying to run out of town already. I liked how they had Jason help him and not say exactly what to do but also encourage him not to just abandon his family again without notice. Lucky peeping how he’s basically repeated Luke’s bad deadbeat habits was interesting to hear.  The final scene of Lucky praying at the chapel for guidance and then Laura walking up was brilliant. Looking forward to Genie and JJ tomorrow.

I admit that it does feel odd to me to see Lucky and Jason in scenes because when I think of them together, I think of GV's Lucky. I can't seem to remember if JJ's Lucky and Jason interacted much at all in his last return due to all I remember is his Irish lass vs Liz. That said...I do like them in scenes for the reason you mention. They seem so unlikely given the history, but yet...it works. Moreso now that they are in the same boat.

Well, it's not like Kristina can maintain the Joss/Kristina rivalry anymore so one of the Davis Girls had to do it.

Heck, this rivalry might be even messier.

I've been waiting for someone to confirm. THANK YOU.

Lucky being lectured by the most disgusting piece of trash in Port Charles is absolutely hilarious. Can’t wait for Dex to cheat with an actual human.

His scene with Jason was ok though.

But yeah, considering the way that Lucky was written today… that is what I meant when I mentioned being suspicious about this storyline.

Remember when I mentioned in another thread how starting Lucky’s storyline while Genie Francis was on vacation was suspicious to me. Him wanting to leave Port Charles with his tail between his legs made me feel the same way.

Almost like someone is sabotaging his character and his storyline.

I think him and Kristina would be more interesting to see or even him and Trina. The idea of a Molly and Dex pairing just sounds like a snooze longterm. With Kristina you’d get to play the already established feuds with Joss vs Kristina and Dex vs Sonny. With Trina you can play friendship betrayal and finally give Trina something interesting to do. Molly and Dex just makes for a very safe and bland choice.

I understand why they did what they did here with Lucky. The fact is he has been running for years and he would attempt (and fail) to go back to that bad pattern of behavior. It makes sense as drama, and of course he's not going anywhere.

Ah, yes. I remember! Things that make you go hmmm.

I totally agree. Both write themselves. And I'm still mad that before the Kristina recast, it appeared the writers were heading that way with Kristina vs Joss. Both actresses were giving catty and the writers were writing them scenes more. It's been so long since a young female rivalry that I was all for it. And even once the recast happened, there were signs (if uneven writing). But of course now the writers would go with a bland choice. Unless it gets messy.

    • I know some of y'all really like Brooke Kerr, and so I've tried to give her a shot, despite her frequent flat line readings and distracted "did I leave the front door unlocked?" facial expressions. But lord, she is so bad at playing a tough-talking badass that I was actually rooting for Brad today to spill the beans to Drew.
    • Googling does tend to ruin it.  For those of us who were teens in the late 1970s and early 1980s, you can't imagine how much fun it was to watch the show in the afternoons.  (It came on right after school.)  There weren't any "spoilers" at the time.  We would always try to anticipate how each crime and each mystery would be resolved, and we were ALWAYS wrong, because the stories are filled with so many weird twists and turns.   The head writer (Henry Slesar) and his dialogue writer (Steve Lehrman) invariably toss genuine clues directly into your face in the most unlikely ways, but then they provide a host of "red herrings" to completely confuse you and send you off on the wrong path.  Once the story reaches its conclusion, all you can think is Why didn't I figure that out weeks ago?  lol
    • Does the vault have the original scene and not the short flashback?
    • I appreciate that you are using AI with the knowledge of it's limitations. Some posters take everything it produces as fact.
    • And of course Mama Ru herself appeared on All My Children.
    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
    • @Maxim Great to see your mini-reviews again. There are a number of clips on Youtube of Janice's slow mental breakdown, especially as we go into January 1980. Christine Jones is just superb. She played the hell out of that role. Something which isn't referenced as much later on is how Mitch pushed Janice's doubts and mental instability for his own ends...until suddenly he didn't want to anymore (I guess he caught on with the audience and the show became wary). I don't want to post a bunch of clips, but this one has a very good confrontation between Rachel and Janice.

This has a good scene around 7 minutes in where you can see Janice struggling internally with her need to identify herself so much by the men around her, all of which helps lead to her crackup.
    • It really made Oscar the Doorman seem like an imbecile.   I think the show's unusual format & subject manner is what makes EON often seem less "dated" and "old-fashioned" than other shows from that time period.  It never attempted to be especially "trendy" or "modern" -- and its film noir style is pretty timeless.
    • Dallas, Dynasty, Knots and Falcon Crest all had good runs but by 85 they had seen better days. I think they were a victim of the format. After several seasons seeing the same characters front and center viewers were bored. What was once fascinating grew predictable. JR, Alexis etc had to be front and center and after a while their schemes and shtick grew repetitive. JR remarrying Sue Ellen, Alexis constantly trying to get he better of Blake etc Unlike daytime, there wasn't the flexibility to bring in other stories and characters and maybe let the likes JR go backburner. That same mentality also invaded daytime with characters like  Sonny and Victor still peddling the same stuff after decades. I guess the same could be said for MSW eg every week Jessica encounters a crime and solves it,but I think viewers come to that format with a different mindset.
