Ryan Carnes quit in early 2020 after Brad went to Jail. Brad got out later that year. Lucas (Played by Matt Trudeau) was on from Dec 2020-Spring 2021 then dropped off the canvas.

Before his return in sept 2024, Brad was last seen as Epfiany's funeral

Somewhat; the story fizzled once Wiley was returned to Michael. Nelle made [some] attempts to kidnap Wiley from Michael, and Brad ended up going to prison and Lucas divorced him. Then COVID hit and when the show came back, Ryan Carnes did not (for unknown "official" reasons), and the role was recast from November 2020 to March 2021, when Lucas effectively left the canvas and moved to Boston.

Selina Wu got Brad out of prison (if I remember correctly) and employed him at her illegal casino nights at The Savoy.

Nelle, like many other villains / storylines, went on for too long.

Yeah GV was my Lucky. When Sam, Liz, Jason, and Lucky all ran into each other in the hall at the hospital there was this air of tension obviously but it didn’t really work for me because I can’t see Sam ever being with JJ’s Lucky and she was quite hot with GV.

Stretching out a villain for too long seems to be soapswide issue these days.

Oh, no.  It's literally impossible to imagine JJ's Lucky with Sam.  Sam was very good with GV's Lucky.  I think GV's Lucky was a more typical hero and family man (with flaws, obviously) while JJ's Lucky is a bit more cerebral, a great mixture of Luke/Laura, and just an entirely different type of Lucky.  It's hard for me to buy JJ's Lucky as a cop or spy or whatever he's doing now-I could see him a bit more interested in the tech side of things as he was really good with computers as a child.  Like Spinelli, but less quirky.

GV is sexy and I would consider JJ's Lucky more jaded and not supposed to be hot or sexy exactly.  He wouldn't find interest in someone like Sam.

Making Lucky such a deadbeat dad has already boxed him in right now.  I think JJ can definitely handle the material and work to be a better Lucky though.

Oh yeah. The fallout was so rushed from what I remember. And then Lucas just faded away when there was so much potential because he took that loss hard. Hard enough to consider going after custody if I remember correctly, but I might be wrong.

Oh yeah next to a certain HW show that premiered yesterday, I was looking forward to this reunion so I was LIVID with my system going down. Cuz something always happens to my tv system during the former show's season airing. ALWAYS.

When it comes to my memories, I hold JJ and GV in high regard (and thought JY was pretty to look at, miscast) as Lucky even when the writing didn't do either one of them any favors. That said...I thought Lucky/Liz's fantasy scene was very well done, and I felt that chemistry. But the real reunion...there were moments, but there was just more chemistry in their flashback than I felt in their interactions. I felt Liz had more of a spark with Jason in the brief hug they shared in the same episode than Liz and Lucky. And then as another counterpoint, yes...Ric anytime he is around Liz, RH plays that throughline of love with her. You can see it. You can feel it. And the fact that I was not around for most of the history (though I know of it or have seen some clips) so I know he's a dangerous man and I can still see and feel it between the two of them speaks volume to Hearst as an actor.

While I'm happy to see him in other storylines and probably getting with Ava, I cannot help but smh for a minute at the fact that THREE of the men Liz have been involved with with actual PC history are on canvas at the same time, and the New/Old Writers are not going to play with it just a little bit more. But I'm just greedy and want to see Liz on screen as much as I can as a Liz fan.

Having three major exes of Liz in town all at the same time with such varied histories with her literally writes itself. Couldn’t agree more Hearst always plays that throughline. I missed a lot of them together in real time as well. But I like what I like and see what I see lol.

Onto 10/7

Kirsten Storms looks amazing. PM was using her as Maxie really well to me and she was coming alive again, but she’s a day player under these new writers. Hopefully when Lulu wakes up she has more to do. She and VH had instant chemistry together. Van actually feels like he’s been on this show for a long time. It’s crazy how he seems to fit with all of these actors like he’s been playing opposite them the whole time. Good recast.

Actually enjoyed the Lucky and Aidan scenes but it doesn’t seem like either Aidan or Liz are really mad at Lucky for choosing to be a dead beat for a decade. Continuing to enjoy the new Aidan but it seems like most of the teens are no longer any sort of priority on the show and Aidan is already talking about going to school on another continent just like Jake so I’m not getting attached.

I love vets even if I don’t have long histories with them so I enjoyed the Holly and Felicia scenes. A lot of these actors have worked off and on together for so many years, you can just feel the connections between the character.

I missed when Violet was on all the time so she doesn’t bother me. Also I liked Finn’s friendship with Tracy so her being involved with Violet doesn’t annoy me at all and makes sense.

And don't forget...with ACTUAL PC histories.

So no need to prop a Friend of Frank some folks.

Hehe. I know it's wrong, but Hearst really plays it oh so well. Even when Liz sat him down to let Ric down gently and firmly, Hearst simply went to subtext with Ric and I giggled. He is so smitten on her even now.

But yes...it writes itself.

    • I would put Felicia in the 'small dose' auntie category because she means well, but comes on too strongly at times.  In small doses, she would be a blast to hang out with.. but in anything larger than a small... she would be exhausting. I tend to prefer lower key people than people that are always 'on' all the time.  Those people can veer off into energy vampire status pretty quickly.
    • I didn't like the Harry story, but Nazar did have a great introduction. He was probably the highlight of last year.  Now that you mention it, I guess the truly dire stories (Nicole, Harper/Drew/Phil, Nicole) didn't start until summer.
    • thank you all for contributing to the Vault. I am slowly getting towards watching the 1998 episodes

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
    • Nah I enjoyed it much more last year because of the Harry plot that ended during that time. Nazar being introduced and them. But this time it is so lame and nothing I like forward to anymore and I’m one of them long time fans. Of course I would be upset if they would cancel it but maybe take a year off or two and return refreshed
    • came across this quote that provides some context: “It’s hard to escape the cultural reach of the Catholic Church when you live in the Western world. It is, for better or worse, one of the load-bearing walls of our civilization. Its influence wafts from the church into the streets of civic life, the courts, the schools, the arts.”
    • Yesterday's show:   Can they give Ambyr Michelle the Emmy for supporting actress already?   Truly enjoyed the episode from Leslie and Eva, Eva and Ted, Nicole and Dani to Anita and Nicole.
