This is fantastic. Since Ryan Carnes first left the role in 2020, I called for Van Hansis to be cast as Lucas, and I am SO happy he is coming to Port Charles, and that he's reuniting with Maura West, who he had amazing chemistry with!!!

Thank you for that info. I didn't realize that Ryan is in his 40's. He looks younger. 

I do wonder what the storyline will be. Would they really put him back together with Brad...or is someone new in the wings?

I thought it was said they wanted Ryan Carnes on contract and he turned them down but VH isn't on contract?

General Hospital is often delayed in correcting their statuses in their end credits; Mesure was revealed as a series regular at the same time as Kristen Vaganos, and the latter received her first credit as regular long before Mesure did.

VH is a capable enough actor, but (like Vaganos), the haste in the recasts is reflected on screen.

With Bobbie gone, Lucas' only real tie to the show is gone. Most viewers don't care about Brad, and I'm sure some who do probably just liked him having a hee haw with Britt rather than being with a non-character. Once the lip service to the backlash over the Blaze and Natalie story is done I won't be surprised if Lucas and Brad are both out for good.

Wikipedia has the character of Lucas Jones currently listed as a regular which is code for contract for them

Van also said he has a big story coming up

Yeah, I still can't decide if they even have chemistry yet because they are just so different. 

 

To my knowledge yes, they do have VH on contract so I do wonder what the story will be going forward.
