I agree with @TEdgeofNightfrom this angle, either promote your show or don't, but to use an interview to air personal grievances, feels unprofessional.

There are teams of people who rely on the production for their livelihood, and putting the popularity of your own story above the needs of others, feels like poor form.

I've always gotten the sense BF was arrogant, but moreso a few years ago.   He seems a bit more chill now, but I never forgot his social media rant about how great it was that both him and Marci Miller were nominated for Lead Actor/Actress and how rare that is for young people on Days.  Considering there are only four soaps left I wasn't that impressed.   IIRC, he really was defending MM and her haters and it was probably a nice gesture.  It just came off very arrogant.

And where was his outrage when his female co-stars were being asked to take paycuts and being harassed?  If an actor feels that they have to complain to the press, at least make it about a larger issue than a temporary plot contrivance.  Because while he's blaming for the writer for not focusing on the character of Abby, did he ever consider whether his scene partner wanted to settle for less money than him?

To me, Tony Geary was just as offensive.  He literally became a star off the back of his 19-year-old co-star.  Yet, he never spoke out, over more than thirty years, about her mistreatment by production and the network.  The only times he came forward to speak his mind is when his middle-aged, balding, blowhard character lost his edge.

Accepting the opinions of these hacks about the writing that has kept them employed long beyond their sell-by date, while their female costars are being under-compensated and harassed, is way off.

And blaming the creativity of the writer, when the production could not accommodate the professional desires of Ms. Miller to go off contract, probably because she wasn't being paid the same rate as her male peers, feels like a selfish distortion of the truth.

It's quite true that Tony Geary offended me. He had the audacity to object to their being stage directions in his scripts. To his way of thinking, he, the almighty actor that he seems to think he is, is the be-all and end-all, the absolute final arbiter of what he would be doing onscreen. Apparently the script should be the words he was to say, that alone, and NO MORE. And, of course, he is quick to point out that he negotiated to be able to change those very words, giving up money in favor of this creative autonomy. I could not help thinking what an amazing career soaps had afforded him and yet, he shows absolutely no appreciation for the genre in any way. He started out many years ago saying he hated soaps & apparently after a lifetime doing them & only them, he still despises them. As one who is an avid fan, I feel insulted. So if you ever find yourself in the position of writing a script for Mr. Geary, remember, do not tell him to move or to pick something up. Just words, please.

The fact that there are other stories that obviously help GH's ratings isn't really my point.  Tony Geary/Luke is just a much bigger actor/character than Billy Flynn/Chad #2.  I am not defending either of them.  I just think Tony Geary at least has enough experience and hardware to back up his opinions even if I don't agree with his takes.  Billy Flynn and Tony Geary will never be on the same level popularity or recognition wise.  It's just the way it is in 2024.

    • Put me in the minority in being happy about Cat not being Abby. After the two adult recasts played tag with the role, it's time for a few years of rest. I have a huge list of things I hate about RC's writing, but that choice was not one of them.
    • Except she never worked there at all and barely even knew where the Chancellor Industries plant was located  In 1980, Kay attempted to install Derek Thurston (her third husband) in a position at Chancellor Industries.  The show introduced a character named George Packard who'd supposedly been running Chancellor since Phillip's demise in 1975.  (George Packard's storyline in 1980 was attempting to keep Derek Thurston from bankrupting the company.)   We didn't hear much of anything about Chancellor Industries for the next twenty-five years.  Then, at that point, we met Eliot Hampton (?) who'd been running the company for decades and had been embezzling from it.  Jill took it upon her herself to oust Eliot Hampton (?) and take control of the company.  That's when Kay became actively involved in the management of the company.  From 1974 till 2004 Kay Chancellor was strictly a hands-off owner.  It was downright absurd that the last ten years of life, she was written as this formidable businesswoman who'd always been involved in Chancellor Industries.
    • Well, it's going to be something when he finds out the truth.  Agreed.  On that note, I can't until it all comes out. I find Lulu to be ridiculous.
    • I almost posted this because that was my initial reaction too:  this is weird/cringe, to sing around a piano after such a huge family shattering bomb was dropped.  But I got over that and just enjoyed her voice, the song and the montage we saw as everyone's emotions in the aftermath were pouring out.
    • The Equalizer original series was not a big hit yet it became a movie franchise and got a reboot series. The Equalizer reboot lasted 5 seasons, so one season longer than the original series.

His social media/IMDb doesn't have his age but from some posts he's made, I'm guessing 1989 is his birth year.
    • Here's the timeline, as I recall it being published. The WGA strike was 5/2–9/27/2023 Annalynne McCord was announced as being hired in December 2023, for a one-year contract https://deadline.com/2024/06/days-of-our-lives-when-to-expect-annalynne-mccord-peacock-1235975806/ RonC's first scripts back from the strike began airing May 31, 2024 (around Konstantine & Maggie's wedding) https://www.tvinsider.com/1137709/days-of-our-lives-writers-return-15000th-episode-storylines/ Her first air date was June 19th 2024. The actress has said she was not told who she would be playing until she started taping. RonC 's replacements were announced July 2024, with his scripts airing through April 2025 Side note: DAYS social media team seems to be playing fast and loose with BTS videos, in terms of how far in advance they film content (e.g. their April Fools' Joke videos were clearly not filmed on 4/1/25), so we shouldn't assume anyone's current status, versus those who were there nine months ago.
    • April and her husband (Draper) are the "young leads" who tie all the storyline threads together.  They're normally in the center of the action.  In this particular storyline, Draper is the attorney who represents Paige Madison.  (The district attorney, Logan Swift, has given Paige Madison "temporary immunity from prosecution" if she will lead the police to the members of the Tobias Gang who stole the firearms.  But Paige mainly just ducks bullets from various gang members who pop-up to assassinate her.)
    • It's one thing to post about a soap's rumors or gossip, which in point of fact we've all done. It's another to present yourself as the inside source who knows something to be fact that's about to break wide, then backtrack and call it just Twitter speculation. Between those two extreme poles you have to commit to one or the other. If I got something wrong, I'd say it. (Nor would I keep playing insider after what I pulled with Drake Hogestyn, which should've gotten someone permanently banned.) And regardless, you don't open with this 'news' you don't actually want to stand by yet by mocking DRW's extremely valid concerns re: how the Trina character and Tabyana Ali has been marginalized and put out to virtual pasture ever since the day NAC left. Her playing out her current contract in a C-storyline with Kai does not change that.
