Haven't watched yet, but had to go look at the spoiler screenshot.  I guess my theory that Diana is Mother Greene won't pan out…

Are we sure that is Mark. It may be Javi

Lol!  I haven't watched the episode yet, but my thumbnail is super spoilery.

Poor guy’s been ruined and he hasn’t even made his debut yet 😂

This is the spoiler-pic thumbnail Peacock accidentally used for Mon. Sept. 30:

Spoiler

I looked at the IG pages of the two actors being speculated for the character in the pic

Spoiler

(Al Calderon and Jonah Robinson)

They both have similar hair, beard, mustache -- but I think the eyebrows are different between the two actors, and by the eyebrows I am guessing who is in the thumbnail.

That being said, the eyebrows could be changed by DAYS hair-and-makeup for the character, in which case, I wouldn't know who is the man in the thumbnail.

I don't hate Body & Soul in theory, but I feel like their timing is way off.

We just said goodbye to Arianne Zucker after a lot of years on the show, because of a whole bunch of unsettling (to put it mildly) revelations about how production was treating the actresses on-set, with specific references to intimate scenes. Now may not be the moment for production to vent/riff on the difficulties of making a soap opera, with a story about sex scenes and a plot point about Diva Actresses undermining the entire thing.

That said, I wonder what the actors think of the suggestion that bascially anyone could be an actor on a soap. The lady who owns a bakery, a couple of ex-cons, a dude who's, um, had direct access to unlimited money. Anyone can be a soap star, for these writers. You just have to live near filming locations. Feels like a dig.

That's very interesting food for thought.

I agree that in theory, having a new workplace where multiple characters can interact is always welcome.

But, the poorly nuanced airing of grievances is distasteful.  He needed to keep a journal and give an explosive exit interview, not malign his co-workers and audience by mocking them.

I hate everything about Body & Soul with every fiber of my being.

This meta-stuff-on-steroids does not work on a daily basis.

I am praying that somehow Paula Cwikly & Jeanne Marie Ford remedy the Adrienne/Bonnie mess. Honestly, while I'd hate for another "back from the dead" storyline, I'd accept it one final time with Adrienne, and then call it a day. Otherwise, cut Judi Evans to end her suffering as Bonnie.

I am with you 100% on this!

But that's Ron's vision of what soaps are. Kooky, far out  plots, unbelievable twists etc

Heart felt character based stories that dramatize  and reflect peoples faults , foibles  and interactions ... not so much.

I hope DH is having fun with Hattie because I am not.

The meta stuff is too indulgent, it's fine for one special episode, an anniversary or something like that, but not protracted. Was RH the first soap to do a soap-within-a-soap storyline? That was 40 years ago. And then of course OLTL. The novelty is long gone. I think we all fell in love with soaps because they ARE soaps, not because they self-reference and spoof them. Notice that none of the BS (such fitting initials) material is taken seriously, Soapdish-like character names and OTT dialogue. I would be utterly taken by a character who actually was an actor and who delivered a devastatingly good performance as an actor playing an actor playing a character.

And that’s one of the (many) reasons why I hate all of this so much.

It’s like they’re mocking and ridiculing and disregarding all the hard work that these people put in every day. I hope the actors are having fun too, but I just think they deserve a lot better than what they’re getting. There’s a big difference between spoofing yourself and just being humiliated and disregarded by the writers. Writers that are always boasting about what big soap fans they are, but seem to have no understanding of what soap opera is.

And of course, the little bitchy rants just get annoying. Like Hattie’s line, “It always the writer who gets the blame.” In the case of Days, 9 times out of 10, it was the writer’s fault.

That’s definitely
