I keep hearing from you that Leo tests well.  I am going to take the bait on this and ask who is Days polling?   People on FB?  Twitter?  Leo is almost universally reviled as a character on this board.  Are there any actual facts and figures on these "tests"?  I thought Days ditched focus groups ages ago.

I think GR is a talented guy.  I honestly don't think I would mind his character much if he popped up a few times a month.  Leo doesn't actually have his own story-he meddles in all the stories.  Most of the time he's just giving commentary on other peoples problems.

Listen, I am sure Leo has a few fans out there, but I can't believe he tests well or tops any fan polls.

I thought Leo was good at the beginning when he was mainly a foil/villain for Sonny and Will. I think he works best when he causes chaos, then leaves. I don't think he works as a permanent character.

I also don't think it's a good tradeoff that he's the gay male representation on the show while the four "legacy gays", Sonny, Will, Paul and Andrew only pop in once in a blue moon.  I'd rather have any of them four than Leo.

I wouldn't be against just starting over from scratch. Give us a new teen gay male coming out/romance story. Go after the Heartstopper crowd.  That's what GH should be doing with Aiden right now, instead they doing lord knows what with him...

Jeanne Marie Ford she already writes on the show and looking at the different episodes she wrote over the years she wrote really good material for Jada and Stephanie and Sarah and Chanel characters and Kayla as well and she also wrote group stuff this year involving Rafe and Jada and Stephanie and johnny and chanel scenes they had with Jada and Rafe on the MLK episode and she wrote Stayla stuff for Valentine's Day this year and xarah marriage proposal was her writing

I think Rikaart works better in supporting or short-term roles. The same happened at Y&R. Nothing about him really worked when he was in a lead role. Probably the most positive I can say was I thought his pairing with Jana worked, until the show trashed it, anyway.

That's why I said cheap parody Contessa. Who says that a parody has to be smart and/or successful?

I enjoyed the first JER run. But even back then I could understand that it was not soap at its best. It had great soapy elements but it was still a crazy show. The madness could not have lasted forever and guess what, soaps are supposed to.

Ron must realize that Desperate Housewives was a hit twenty years ago and that Passions was never a hit.
Soaps are not supposed to be like a sitcom. Or a joke.
Once he understands it, he could be the great Ron of early OLTL and GH again.

During the initial Diana/John stuff I actually had some sympathy for Leo.

Now he's just awful and I hate the Bridgerton Lady Whistleblower nonsense.  We don't need a narration of things we are currently watching lol.  Days isn't that difficult to follow.

It's giving flopsweat. I'd ignore it (as I have for years).

I think GR is a talented guy and on paper the idea of a venal gay villain is great and long overdue for daytime. I think going there with a regular on the show, played by an out gay actor, is a bold idea and also overdue. But Ron doesn't understand or at least accept any moderation or dimension for his favored characters, and Leo is at the top. Leo became his kind of avatar - all the hot guys or good characters have to learn to accept him, or sleep with him or both. That's not how you put that kind of character over, by making everyone else subjugated to them.

    • This show treats Claire like a glorified extra prop not the granddaughter of the 2 biggest supercouples this show has ever had. I don't think was ever invested in Claire nor writing for her & her connections to majority of the town. What a waste of a legacy character with so much potential
    • Kim Zimmer could have had a nice career as a supporting actress in Hollywood, but that does not appear to be what she wanted. That's fine, but in the eighties, she was not going to have many options as a leading actress. The eighties were brutal for a performer like her.  Her one big film role lasted a minute or two. Even while she was on GL, she should have been doing episodic television. Was her agent that incompetent or was she just bad at auditioning? Her episode of "Designing Women" was quite popular and was discussed at the time for its subject matter, but she never followed up on it. It's bizarre to me.
    • Billy just showed up for Vanessa's memorial (Sept 9, '96), which is so nice!  My first time seeing him like this outside of random clips from the past. He's out of jail for 24 hours, so not long. It's good to see him with the family.
    • Definitely was more recent than not; when the set originally returned, the change hadn't happened.
    • It was nice seeing Victorias house and I see it’s been remodelled. I’m sure this happened awhile ago but since I tuned out from the show for so long I am only noticing it now. Looks beautiful though!  Also, Billy and Sally gross me out so much. I don’t know what it is I hate so much about them. They give me the ick. Definitely a mismatch. I don’t buy that these people would be attracted to eachother in real life much less have a relationship..

    • Also, isn’t there supposed to be a storyline with Mariah and Tessa? Mariah cheating or something (keeping some kind of secret) and they were only on screen 2 and 3 times this month. Like what? How am I supposed to care when I barely see them?
    • Definitely wouldn't trust Dinah right now haha.  But that's great to know Billy comes back soon!  I'm excited for that. If he's at the boardinghouse, then I guess he does get closer to Nola perhaps, and then he'll be around Peter/Bridget and J, who is currently in his orbit along with Michelle and Dahlia, and Marcus is at the boardinghouse, so maybe they go the teenage story route most of this time until Billy gets back.
    • Sounds like me, but I prefer to be referred to as Contessa. We all know I can go a long time not paying attention to certain things.  And, if I might add, hey there dude, you effed up pretty good this time and I think this was your last chance. So don't let the door hit you in your behind as you go BYE MOMMY!
    • That did cross my mind at first, but I'd be more inclined to believe it if this didn't involve Trump. I'm not at all sure he is capable of being that sneaky. Of course, there's always a possibility I guess that his advisors are doing it without telling him, but that seems awfully risky. Trump is such a loose cannon you can never predict what he's going to do or say.
