Today felt rushed.

It never works when you try to squeeze multiple episodes of drama into one. But I enjoyed today and despite the rushing it was so great to see Konstantin finally get his [!@#$%^&*] handed to him. I was actually a little surprised by his confession at the end too and I’m really looking forward to Monday

I just wish the scenes today had gone on a little longer before they reached their climax. This was one moment that really shouldn’t have been rushed, especially considering how other characters and storylines get padded out with fluff all the time.

Plus, it was really weird that Sarah appeared in the episode but couldn’t make the wedding. Budget and scheduling aside, she needed to be there. Sort of like how Will and Sonny, who spearheaded the plan to end Leo and Craig suddenly couldn’t make their wedding. And all the trouble they went through to have Dee and Suzanne finally share scenes together and Marlena couldn’t make the wedding either? She really needed to be there too.

Switching gears, Theresa is a total dick for what she did to Brady but at least she conveyed some humanity in her scenes. You can tell she actually felt guilty. I hope her and Brady’s night together ends up driving storyline somehow, not just for them and Alex but for Tate as well.

Today was all about Maggie's wedding to Konstatine.

Alex caught Theresa in bed with Brady.

Konstatine instructed John to kill Maggie after wedding.

The wedding itself seemed like a bad parody.

Cliffhanger: Konstatine revealed he was responsible for Victor's plane crash that killed him.

At the very least, I'm hoping for a key that leads to a door that leads to a parallel dimension where Salem is a normal town filled with normal people who die and stay dead.

That's very true.  The whole wedding was staged so awkwardly.  Everyone just staring while John is pulling a gun out?  Lol.  The 8 random chairs?  I know Days has about 2 nickels to put together any event, but the whole episode was just horribly directed.

Circling back to Marlena, I'll be honest and say she wasn't even NEEDED in this story.  Her concern never felt real.  I understand her and John figured it out and it is weird the show didn't even explain why she wasn't there though.  But then Sarah just decided to go to the hospital instead of her mother's wedding so....

Hold on a gosh darn minute!

Yesterday's cliffhanger had Alex come home yelling for Theresa while she and Brady fell into bed.  Now, today, he knocks on the door in the morning.  So, what did he do last night?  He called for her, and then just went to sleep?

Also, amusing that Bonnie is over the whole Xander kidnapping thing.  I guess if Nicole's forgiven him, then everyone's cool about it.  Charm (and a cute smile) really goes far in Salem.

Brady mentioning the use of the living room as a constant wedding venue was amusing, but shouldn't someone have asked why he was there?  Or, do they get as confused as I do about who lives at the Kiriakas and Dimera mansions?

Overall, John and Steve continue to be as dumb as a box of rocks, the Theresa wig looks better now without the dark roots, but the use of flashbacks as a stylistic choice is unwelcome on a daily basis.

My God Theresa continues to get worse with each passing day. I really can't wait for her to get her comeuppance and for Brady, Alex, Tate and the rest of the town to completely wash their hands of her and have nothing to do with her ever again. She is so vile; it's pretty obvious at this point that she will never truly change and she just isn't capable of it. Whatever; I hope after she leaves town she dies off-screen somehow and Ron won't have to write for her ever again if he doesn't want to because it's pretty obvious he hates writing for her.

@carolineg or @AbcNbc247 - was the point of Sarah showing Bonnie her phone so we as the audience wouldn't be tipped off that her name is similar to Alex's Mother's name by not saying it out loud?

I missed if they've said Xander's Mother's name since they've started talking about her.  But, since the forged letter about Alex's paternity was supposedly signed by Angelica Devereaux, that has to be a clue about how it will be exposed, right?

Just awful.

All DAYS cares about is getting any episode's taping finished. Doesn't seem to matter what it looks like -- whatever is easiest and cheapest works best.

And we had to wait for Ron to return for this Konstantin wrap-up? For THIS??? How can it be satisfying when Maggie could have gotten rid of Konstantin months ago? Make it make sense.

And Theresa the hoe bag is just going to skate on by and not be mentioned as a partner in crime? Uh...ok.

I also find it ludicrous that Alex would be fine with Theresa being his one-and-only just seconds after finding her with Brady bodily fluids all over her.

    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
    • The Bell soaps, B&B and Y&R: cannot watch. If I went by the last time I did I would have to give them both D- but I really don't think it counts when you're not a daily watcher.  DAYS: B+ (Now this is with the knowledge that for years I have given this show a D- because I've been a fan for too long to give it the F it deserved.) GH: A+ (With Korte driving this bus to me the show is so much better! IMO we just had the best NB in so many years I cannot count!) BTG: A solid (Things I love, a few I do not, nothing I hate, still find it in general remarkable.) As always, thanks for doing this thread. I count it. I always look for it & I always post.
    • Okay, I continue to maintain that what is so good about this particular reveal followed by umbrella storyline is that you can see & understand many different points of view where there is not one bad guy or one 100% right person.  About your stated opinion, that Lois & Gloria did the right thing, you know that this was technically an illegal adoption? For it to have been legal the father, if known, would have to have been informed & have signed off on terminating his own paternal rights. And, of course, it is clear how many people they lied to.  Personally I feel like Lois is going to take the biggest "public" blame with Lulu a close second in the blame category. I am looking forward to a tongue lashing I hope Brook Lynn gives to Gloria. I continue to be more than annoyed with Dante. First his attitude toward Gio with regards to Rocco & a drinking game & its results. Second his attitude toward Lulu. Meanwhile enjoying the show every day!
    • Lois and Gloria did the right thing I feel knowing it was Camila that raised Gio has BL feeling some jealousy No one is saying that Camila was a bad mother to Gio I believe it will be Gio saying that Camila was great to him, thanking Lois and Gloria to get BL to see truth
    • Its realistic for Dani and  true of how the character thinks and operates. We've known her long enough to by that this would be consistent with her past characterizatioin
    • Random takes: - What was even the point of that jeweler guy? Also—Dani was borderline harassing him. - I know I’m probably in the minority here, but I want Jacob and Kat to happen. I need something messy to completely dismantle the Duprees—and Katomas just isn’t cutting it.  - I officially can’t stand Jacob and his wife. Same goes for Anita and Vernon. - Hayley’s corset was just as ugly as it looked uncomfortable. - I genuinely don’t remember when or how Derek and Ashley reconciled—and I’m someone who didn’t even mind their storyline! LMAO. - Tuesday’s episode was a mess. - Dani finding out about Hayley’s pregnancy and immediately thinking, “She’s faking it”—huh?! What writer thought that was a realistic reaction? I get denial, but that leap was absurd. I agree the ‘Leslie Victorious’ moment was way OTT. But hey, at least I wasn’t yawning. The following episode, where she handed over her daughter’s last few belongings was much better. - I can’t with the constant back-and-forth between Orphey Gene’s and the Country Club. I forgot this was such a soap trope, but even back in my loyal viewer days (late ‘90s, early 2000s), it wasn’t this bad. While GH has a ton of beautiful sets, we’re stuck with the same three—and half of them are ugly. Also: it’s been way too long since we had a party, gala, or any kind of event. I know the Richardsons’ anniversary gala (back in late April) has had a big ripple effect, but I was kinda getting used to those large-scale episodes. Fingers crossed they don’t go with Guza.
