Yeah.  I don't think RKK is a bad actor at all and probably could have had a really solid soap career if he wasn't everything he is or was.

I liked his Bo and his take on Stavros.

I don't know Ali Sweeney or her parents, but I weirdly respect them so hard for taking her off Days to protect her.

Yup.  I can totally get into him when he's acting and I really, really liked his Bo.  But then I am like PR isn't a creep so let's move on lol.  But honestly RKK was one of the best recasts of all time especially in a huge part like Bo Brady that already had an iconic previous actor.

Yes, he & Miriam would sit in her room & read poetry & when she became legal then they began dating openly. They married & had a daughter & were together for years but now they are divorced.

And as to the rest, you probably read what I wrote. A very close friend of mine is a close friend of Robert's and he schooled me on what he has done to turn his life around & when I learned of this I checked with Crystal to see if it was true & she verified that it was. And she was one who previously had spoken about how rough he was with her & how she was even afraid of him. I believe it is also in her memoir, the bad treatment I mean. (Chappell)

The implication is that he is a changed man.

It wasn't at all we saw was Liz take his shirt off, Liz strap tank top pulled down on her arms without it being off(she might have 2 shirts on)& them making out then cuddly on the coach. It was all implied. I remember Rebecca Herbst talking about that scene I think at a fan event last yr or earlier this year. Some of her fans particularly of the Liason variety had met her & asked about Liason. It was on Twitter.

Anyways lots of people found that particular scene hot. Myself I can't make a judgment rather it was cause I'm incapable of seeing St. Jase as anything other than a human trash bag. It's why as a Robin FF I could never get into the boy with no past girl with no future epic iconic romance J&R.

I thought the Liason ONS was very hot in part bc the intimacy with Steve and Becky/Jason and Liz had always been there, been rebuilding for a long time and the scenes were overall very well done and scripted. But I'll submit that it was less explicit than the full-on grinding with Steve and KT. And all that is even with me also having had zero time for Jason for over 20 years, lol.

In what world -- in what area of entertainment -- does this make ANY sense?

Love scenes have been a staple of film and television since they came into existence, and in literature for hundreds of years. Actors who refuse to do those scenes need to leave any medium where performing those scenes may be required.  Go do children's theater or find another line of work.

I am sick and tired of this being portrayed as softcore porn. We're not asking for that. And no, we're not FORCING actors to do anything. Dex wants to be a police officer. Should the actor be able to say he doesn't want to film scenes where he's holding a gun, or where there's violence? Where does this "actor's choice" stop?

I do wonder if there is any particular heat with the twenty/thirtysomething cast, or if any attempt at such is just stumbled upon. Even if Chase left and Amanda Setton got down and dirty, this just isn't that type of show. I know DAYS has a lot more sex, but any time I watch and see them try it just feels cold and forced to me, not helped by charmless Ken dolls like RSW. So even if GH did go in that direction, would it work? Is it worth the effort?

I saw some of the Dex and Joss scenes today, which admittedly were not meant to be hot stuff, but I was reminded of how old and played out Joss feels - even more than her mother.

The one younger couple I can remember interesting me, somewhat, in recent times was Spencer and Trina, and you know nobody at GH gave a damn about that pairing.

I thought it was subtly sexy as well.  BH/SBu do work well together and I am not much of a Jason/Liz fan.

Steve did really seem to enjoy his brief pairing with KT too.  I can understand that after dealing with monotone KM for a decade plus.

I've never cared for KT or Britt and never will, but yes their scene was very hot.

I think FV was very capable of producing a sexy show at times at OLTL as well as earlier on in his GH tenure. But I think these days his tastes are even more bland and often specifically calibrated for the FB audience or not upsetting the applecart of what he thinks preferred viewer sensibility is, and with rare exception (like the recent Drew/Nina interlude) the only couples who get those kind of more heated scenes are ones he either favors or wants to cater to the fanbases on. Otherwise it's just about maintaining. But he also has no problem showcasing male beefcake to his preference, hence the fascination for years with the NB male strip show and often showcasing random bit players like Yuri or whoever.

They were made to care about Spencer and Trina because the online and fan support was too powerful to ignore, and even then they stalled it out for as long as humanly possible (and I think Frank would've still paired Spencer with Esme or Joss if he could've gotten away with it). I don't think it was about a fear of showing sex there period - they had no problem getting Chavez undressed - so much as it was as a fear of upsetting the ratings due to interracial romance and sexuality, and an annoyance that it was not their preferred central female lead.

    • exactly. I can understand schadenfreude if it were real, but a lot of this is just an engineered distraction.
    • Days of our Lives S60E204 – Thursday, June 5, 2025 Okay, today’s episode was kind of boring. It was nice seeing Jack and Jen back, but they wasted an entire episode on Jen chatting with Julie - one scene would’ve been enough. Also, why didn’t Jack and Jen go comfort Marlena? And wouldn’t a flashback with Jack, Jen, and John have been great? Maybe something from the Cruise of Deception era? Bottom line - it feels like once John’s memorial is over and the returning fan favorites leave Salem… the show’s going to be dull again.
    • Everything with Elon and Trump is a stunt. If people, and the sycophantic press, are talking about their "feud," they are not talking about Republican plans to gut Medicare, Medicaid, and the ACA.
    • I can't fully remember, but I don't think they tried to get Beth Chamberlin back. I think Laibson/McTavish likely saw Beth as old news and wanted to move Philip on; either that or have her return only when Philip was closely tied to a new woman. Thanks as always for these recaps. I think I had stopped watching around this time and mostly kept up by reading in the soap magazines. Bridget's degradation was horrible to watch, as the character had grown so much over the years and was clearly regressed just to be a foil for a "hot" couple viewers had zero investment in.
    • Having the majority of the cast on those low numbers is no way to tell story. And just 2 dayplayers for the month. So sad for the #1 soap.
    • I believe it was. And this is actually one of the cases where I wouldn’t mind some dumb soap opera bringing back from the dead. They gave Mishael, Amanda, with all of Hilary’s connections but none of the personality except for fleeting moments. Hilary absolutely should’ve just left town. They decided to kill her and the baby. Just baffling,
    • That was Mal Young right? He thought a tragic death was a better option than crafting a story where Hilary leaves town. Was it a case of punishing someone who wants to leave? And then they have to jump through hoops to bring the actress back.
    • Ooo @TaoboiI will say I just watched Amanda give it to Abby and I loved it. Honestly just made me miss Hilary more. I will never understand or get over that decision to kill her off. Also call me crazy but I could definitely see the Damian actor playing NuTed on BTG. Very much still enjoying the Lily attraction.
    • I rewatched these episodes---they broke my heart. Somehow, Nola had seen Vanessa leave the hospital, and follows her home, and Maeve just lets out this primal scream---chills went down my spine. And knowing the history between them---never quite liking the other and always getting on each other's nerves (to put it mildly)---makes it a much richer to have them put it all aside in the moment and be family to each other. I've never seen/heard what Maeve thought of the story itself, but she did want a break, so it's not like she was fired and then brought back. Yes, Vanessa could be this stubborn and unwilling to ask for help. She'd pretty much always been an "I can do this on my own" type of woman, although when she first came to town, she would still run to Henry. But after she met Billy, she stopped relying on her father. It's part of the reason she (briefly) got addicted to pills after Bill's birth---she was determined to take care of him all by herself and became obsessed with the idea she was the only one who could. Of course, nothing before to this extreme. I should say, there's no way (IMO) they could've told this story---Vanessa letting her loved ones thinking she'd died---if her father Henry had still been alive. She never would've been able to do that to him. And it does chafe that she's letting Bill believe it, when her mantra had been all about protecting him since the day he was born. I honestly don't recall what I thought about it at the time. But now I'm thrilled she's free of Matt at least. LOL.
    • I had no idea Peter Reckell was 70. He doesn’t look or feel it and I guess I thought Bo and Hope were closer in age than 9 years. Wow even the new writers had to have Jack praise Leo. Melissa Reeves continues to slip back in effortlessly as Jennifer. I like Ari and Holly being old friends. Holly learning about John’s death reminded me of how John used to call her Nikki if my memory is serving me right. Doug who happily sleeps in high school Holly’s room shirtless and in his underwear is now asking about birth years. How old is he anyway?    The Cat and Chad romance is insulting.
