I have personally seen via video interviews Steve Burton, Bradford, Kirsten & Finola all say that they are excited for what they been doing. They get excited everytime a script comes.

5.13.2024

HW: Elizabeth Korte & Patrick Mulcahey

BDW: Lucky Gold

SW: Charlotte Gibson

DIR: Denise Van Cleave

I really loved Trina's reaction to the Heather News & wondering why Laura would want to be involved and also wanting to make sure the victims will be heard. Could a talk with Trina and Sasha get Laura to let this go?

Gregory and Tracy are just awesome. I wish this would go on and on

Team Anna with the Carly chat and then Carly decides to go see Brennan again

I didnt mind the Michael/Sasha stuff but it seems way past its time

I do not trust Drew and I think a Willow/Drew hookup could happen.

All in all a good episode

Laura needs to have a Heather intervention. Have Kevin, Alexis, Jordan, Sasha, Stella and Trina talk to her about why advocating for Heather is a bad idea.

Unfortunately, I learned a long time ago to take actors' public statements with a grain of salt.  With some exceptions, actors aren't really good judges of writing.  To them, a script is good if it has more lines for them.

Furthermore, actors are nothing if not "company men."  They'll go out of their way to talk up even mediocre writing, because they aren't going to badmouth their shows and risk people not watching.

I agree.  Just because you see folks talking about it on Twitter, or hear 'em talking about it on a podcast, that doesn't mean the info is legit.  If that's the case, then I'm marching over to Twitter right now and spreading the word that Justin Deas is joining the cast of GH as Tracy's new love interest (once Gonzo kicks the proverbial bucket).

Some of those folks are plugged in, whereas a lot are just very self-important and chasing DC's old wake from back when they were totally in Frank and Ron's pockets. I really don't know which is the case with these alleged people, but regardless dropping a statement like that requires a little more information two rocky months in.

I admittedly didn't pay that much attention to press in the D&C era but I don't remember FV ever speaking on seasonal story stuff in the place of those writers. I don't remember them being super unavailable either.

Promotion for this show is absolutely stinking up the place! Nothing from Frank, nothing from Varni which is actually okay with me, nothing from Patrick & nothing from Korte, that adds up to quite a bit of silence, if you ask me. It is my biggest beef with them.

Meanwhile very quiet back channel talk says these are the very players who are fighting each other on everything from the longer scenes we love to ... who really knows what, but elements of the production style/writing. (Frank & Varni try to sell the idea that the longer scenes are boring. THEY'RE NOT!)

I mean, I think we’re all inferring something fishy is going on behind the scenes right now. It’s feel evident watching the show, IMO.

Someone has to say something soon though. It’s ridiculous not to tease or comment on the future vision for the show - unless, of course, no one actually has one or can compromise on one, hence the silence.

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
    • The show is done. It got canceled at the end of January. https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2025/02/fox-first-run-cancels-dish-nation-person-place-or-thing-pictionary-759232
    • I believe it. ESPECIALLY that last one.
    • Aristotle Dumas. Just thought I'd throw that out there!
