Thank you Soap Opera Network for this lovely recognition of my work, and how funny it is that this is the first role I’ve originated on daytime!

The focus of the story is “Dani,” and so my focus has been how to build upon what was given to make a compelling friend for her. There’s a saying I learned when studying Shakespeare: “the clown makes the king,” and I do so love being a clown.

“Pamela” is also a bit of “Opal” to “Erica,” and if you know your “All My Children” you’ll know what I mean. Thank you to the lovely Jill Larson for the inspiration!

There’s more to the concoction but I can’t give away all my secrets…

I hope you enjoy this ride with me, and I thank you so very much for your kind support!

Words cannot express how thrilled I am for Cady McClain.  She has more than earned the right to originate a character on daytime rather than be a recast, and I am so, so glad MVJ and the rest of the BTG team have handed her this opportunity.

Curious if CBS is going to do full or partial preemptions for the 12 scheduled Champions League soccer days between March 4 and May 7.

The first matches are scheduled for the two weeks immediately after the debut - March 4-5 and March 11-12.

Amazingly, no!
No soccer soaps preemptions for UEFA Champions League
during March 2025 on CBS.

They're doing Paramount Plus only, not CBS-broadcast-TV this year.

As far as I can see, the same would be true for the soccer quarterfinals and semifinals in April and May -- Paramount Plus only.  As per the link.
(However, sometimes there is a change announced later, so good to check again in April, to be sure.)

note:
There will likely still be a network-wide preemption
for NCAA Basketball (March Madness tournament)
on Thurs. March 20 and Fri. March 21
(Unconfirmed - to be announced later).
If that happens, it would be CBS nationwide, so preempted in all timezones.

@janea4old You're awesome! Thank you so much for confirming this! That's fantastic news for BTG!

Regardless of what anyone thinks of them, CBS did an amazing marketing campaign getting the word out about this show. The likes of which I have ever seen before for a daytime show.

Whatever happens from here is up to the viewers to tune in, but I cannot fault the promotion CBS gave this show to launch with.

Long article, worth reading the whole thing...

Great article about Beyond The Gates and also
the history of the real-life "Country Club at Woodmore", located in Prince George's County, Maryland - one of the wealthiest majority-Black counties in the US. The article says that the country club, and its attached gated community, is the epicentre of the area's upper crust.

They interview local residents!

Although it traces its roots back to plantation-era slavery, the region has become synonymous with "Black excellence", locals told the BBC. To live there, Patricia Gafford says: "You've got to have money – lots of it."
