I love that she gets to solidify her mark on entertainment and her legacy with this show. She’s had such a respectful and diverse career, and has always kept her class. I never imaged she would return to daytime, but I am glad she did and now I can’t picture anyone else playing Anita Dupree.

The opening credits!

It looks beautiful! I love the motif of the characters being glimpsed beyond the gates. I'm glad they reshot the footage we saw from the first teaser. The core four have the same wardrobe except for Dani, who is now in a green dress. This looks so well done. It's heads and shoulders above the other soaps. I hope it will be easy to update the cast images.

The theme music will take some getting used to. It doesn't strike me as "unforgettable classic soap theme" like Nadia's Theme or Jelinda's Theme or Faces of the Heart or Hold Onto Love. Maybe the closing credits version will be a bit more tuneful.

Everyone looks great but I feel like they didn't take full opportunity to make this stand out.

Tamara leaves her dressing room door open just like Lena Horne left her door open for Tamara!

My grandparents knew many entertainers who'd pass through our area, including Miss Horne.  One thing I do remember them saying - along with the fact that Tina punched and slapped around Ike just as much as he punched and slapped her around - is that Lena Horne was stuck-up as the day is long and not as "down" as she protested to be.  (Nancy Wilson, on the other hand, was very bougie, but way more supportive of Black people).

After several rewatches the theme song is growing on me. I like the bluesy descending melody that kicks in at the middle of the sequence.

Kurt Farquhar is doing a lot with this theme, you have a symphonic composition for the Duprees, a blues-like melody that kicks in for the rest of the cast, a percussive hip hop beat throughout, and then it ends with pulsing electronica when when we see the final title card.

Taken for granted, especially by Y&R since Drucilla was killed off, if not before.

I have a feeling the show will have broad support from the people that Nielsen daytime actually counts. I would love for it to cause enough ratings disruptions that everybody steps up their game. I have high hopes that this new show stirs things up!

THIS! Competition is key!
