I would hope they have it posted for free on YT like Bravo does its shows as well. Get the word out. Give the potential audience a taste.

Doesn't Paramount+ give a 7 day free trial?

I'm sure they do. But nothing wrong with a simple clip or type in to a webpage vs signing up for a subscription which may or may not need a credit card number. ;)

Just brought it up because, well, why not, and also why not be aware of as many resources, especially free, that exist.

Are you on drugs?

OMG! If I don’t have a good opinion of the trailer, is because I’m on drugs?

You know. I smoke cigarettes sometimes, but I have never taken drugs.

The only thing I wanted to express (sorry but English is not my natural language) is that this trailer seems like a trailer for the second, third or fourth season of a series, not a new series where we don’t know anything about it.

When you do a trailer of a new series, you have to present the plot and the characters better than this trailer does. This trailer only shows some moments like slaps, romance, revenge, and some soap opera lines and maybe good memes, but does not present a proper narrative and a great plot to engage new viewers.

I mean, after watching this trailer, we don’t know what this series is about and for me this is a big mistake.

Take a look of the trailers of any first season of any TV series or miniseries and maybe you realize what I’m talking about.

HUH?! Are you okay?!

Yes, I’m OK. Don’t shame me for not liking this trailer.

I hope this series is very good and it has a lot of success. But they are doing a bad job presenting a new series.

The trailer is just some random soap opera scenes which I would understand if it was the second season or something like that. But if you are doing a new series you have to present a better narrative.

Just my opinion. I’m OK and I’m not on drugs.

When you look at the comments on any post about the show, the comments are universally positive with people showing their excitement for the show. Clearly, they're doing something right.

I cannot read the comments of the Youtube trailer because is blocked for me since I don’t live in USA.

All the comments I have read is from soap opera sites and I agree they are mostly positive. But I would like also to read what people from non soap opera sites think about this trailer.

Honestly, these are fair comments.  The "Are you on drugs?" or "Are you okay?" comments were unjustified.  It's okay if people aren't 100% positive all the time.  There's nothing wrong with valid criticism.

Thank you for saying that.

I think it's pretty pointless to try and appeal outside to people who don't enjoy soaps at this point to be honest, especially as it's not attempting to be anything else. If it had some sort of special "twist" to it, it might've been worth pointing out, but this is pretty standard soap fare. I think the most important thing would be to get lapsed soap viewers to check this out from the beginning.

I respect your opinion, but I don’t think like you.

Years ago, there were no streaming services so I thought it was just right to appeal soap opera fans. But right now, in this new world, you can have a big success only by streaming. See Netflix and all the others streaming services.

For example, in my country there was a small series called Elite that was a big success internationally thanks to Netflix.

In my country there are a lot of success series/telenovelas from Latin America and Turkey thanks to streaming services.

The game has changed. So I think it’s a good idea to make a great series because you can have a lot of audience besides the only soap opera lovers.

Wasn't trying to shame you for your opinion; just questioning it is all. 👍🏻

When I mentioned the comments, I mean on non-soap pages. On TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube and Facebook the majority of comments are from people who don't watch soaps but grew up with them or people who wanted to start a soap from the beginning. There are also tons of Black people who seem interested.

Also in regards to what you say about presenting a narrative, I feel like they did that in the initial promos. They established that it's about the Dupree family, a wealthy family in a posh suburb dealing with the type of scandals you typically have on a soap. The trailer expanded upon that by revealing Dani's husband has left her for another woman, the patriarch of the family is being blackmailed and another member of the family was almost murdered.

I'm not sure what more you would've wanted if I'm being honest. These promos are short and there is only so much they can cover. I don't see how you could watch those promos and not have a good feel for what the show will be like.

I wonder how far they will go with this show? I want to hear the bed squeaking and the headboard hitting the wall with Martin and Smitty. Get it on. 😆

The new trailer gives me all I need to know and I am LIVING for it! I'll give the show 6 months to see if it can hook me. Soaps need a while. Tamara Tunie alone will keep me watching that long.

Am hoping to snag tix to the NYC premiere at Paley Fest when they go on sale to the general public tomorrow!

Bring on Beyond The Gates!

PS Someone posted an interview above ( a few pages back) that made it sound as if the show has been given a 4 season pick up from CBS. If so, I applaud them. We all know it takes years for a soap to find its following. Giving the production/writing team 4 years to breathe and try and make it work would be awesome!

Now that we know that this show is an official piece of trash, I fully expect to see this one playing thuggish Elon Hawthorne, Jacob's dad.
