They just announced three actors who don't live in Atlanta. Atlanta is now a major hub for actors. I don't think anybody will be turning it down for that reason. If they'll relocate to more expensive LA or NY, why wouldn't they relocate to Atlanta? Especially as hard as it is to get a job right now. Also, for Black actors in particular, I just don't see them making the location an issue. They have less opportunities and the majority of what they do have is in Atlanta right now.

Considering her [young] family is firmly planted in Toronto, Canada, I don't see her leaving them especially since she left a regular status at The Young and the Restless to do just that: spend time with her family in Toronto.

Oh, boy, Mosley really kicking it as Maya. I must confess that watching her in that story was the only time, or almost, not counting Flannery, anyway, that I actually enjoyed B&B.

Toronto is a 2 hour flight from Atlanta so even if she didn't move, it would be an easy commute. I also think her exit from Y&R had more to do with them clearly not wanting her than anything else. They treated her like garbage the first time her contract was up (hence Hilary's death). I can't imagine it got any better the second time.

MVJ and PM were both unhappy (but didn't publicly say it in a strong way because they both actually like Brad Bell) with the way the Avant story ended on B&B. I have to think this partly impacted Mosley getting a role on MVJ's debut creation.

That's the problem: the casting called for actors to be based in Atlanta, meaning, they don't want actors having the commute to work. They want them IN Atlanta for shooting purposes (per TV Insider: "All roles are contract players and must be Atlanta residents. The show is set to commence taping in November.") So, if she did take a role and did not relocate, it may be a guest/recurring one. None of the Steve Burton treatment (The Young and the Restless). They want their actors local for access purposes.

And per her own admission, Morgan wanted to spend more time with her family following tragedies and COVID. Could her mind have changed? Possibly, but is also could not have.

And so it begins…

It’s been a minute, but it’s time to get back to it. My gratitude could not be any deeper to the Soap Opera icon (and my dear friend) @michelevaljean for your vision, courage and joy in creating this groundbreaking project. The first new soap in over 20 years, y’all!

To @msttunie and @theonlydaphneeduplaix my heart is just exploding. What a gift to be cast opposite both of you.

To my @cbstv family I am so proud to be back. To @therealkimcoleman - thank you thank you thank you. And to @creativetalentcompany and @buchwaldtalent thank you for seeing me for so long.

Let’s go!!!!!

(Extra shout out to my partner in all things @hh_john_djoser_r for saying yes to this adventure. Big vision. Big changes. Big rewards. We are blessed.💗💗💗💗

Daphnee Duplaix's IG post is lovely as well. I honestly didn't know people out there in daytime were cutting for her these days after her brief but great run on OLTL.

Tamara Tunie just made me go from will check this out to must watch. Tunie is not only an awesome actress, she is also grounded and brings depth to all the material I have seen her work with.

I have watched the premieres in my lifetime of Sunset Beach, Port Charles, and Passions. This feels different. Tamara Tunie being cast feels different. We may have pretty people here but they are not going to just be pretty people. Looking forward to this! They aren’t just looking for flash and over the top.

I know lots of us are wishing for Victoria Rowell, but I wonder if she would be happier directing on a show like this than acting. She was pushing so hard for bts representation at Y&R, and I know she knows how to work within the soap camera setup. She might be able to bring in some of that Bell glamour and lushness from her experiences there.

Quoting the end of Karla's IG post:  "Extra shout out to my partner in all things @hh_john_djoser_r for saying yes to this adventure. Big vision. Big changes. Big rewards. We are blessed"

Sounds like Karla's life partner John (father of her children) is on board with "this adventure", and I would *speculate* that either she or all of them will be moving to Atlanta or spending lots of time there?

This is reminding me of that unsubstantiated claim of Lawrence Saint-Victor joining this show. I wonder if he'll be announced in the next round?
