I agree. But as with Ted King, I question the look of doing that right now when both the two elder sisters/stars have had cheating Black husbands. Still, I wouldn't complain much.

I am not opposed to Nicole getting love from all angles. Honestly, I need my girl to dibble and dabble everywhere. Channel your inner Vanessa, Nicole! 

This show needs to get its act together with its Black male characters before it starts hiring white soap vets in leading male roles. Especially with its meager budget. Where are the Sean Blakemores and the Peter Parroses?

But you know what I mean? I like that actor mentioned, but I don’t love the message this sends on the first hour-long Black soap. On a show with a male deficit in general. Where they decided to cast the core family almost entirely of women with loser Black husbands and a gay Black man with a doting, long-suffering white husband. Where a Black doctor (a gambling addict and a cuckold) was just killed off while his white wife was schtupping the local white gangster. Where a lot of the Black men have been corrupt cops or criminals working at the pleasure of said white gangster.

Daytime hasn’t done a great job at developing Black talent over the years. The Monti Sharps never had a chance. It’s sad that there are only a few solid Black male actors who rise to the level of “vet,” but they do exist. But I suppose none of them would yield the excitement of a — (none of them ever had the chance to build his level of notoriety).

I totally agree with that, which is why I mentioned it at the top of the page re: not loving the optics of pairing [redacted] with Nicole or whoever right away given recent circumstances. I've commented on it a few times over in the last several weeks whenever we've discussed the possible casting of a white star. That being said, I'm not going to say no to a popular (and scorching hot) white soap star joining the show. It's a tricky thing.

Obviously Anna knows Karla and they both know Clifton so it's not surprising they would make a video together, but I have to wonder if Anna might show up on the show at some point.

I think having both sisters marriages break up in the first year was wrong on a number of levels. I would have preferred Ted/Nicole on a different trajectory  with them trying to salvage the marriage and rebuild trust.

That would have suited Nicole's character and provided a  contrast to Dani as well as depicting another angle to a marriage breakup.

That doesn't mean Nicole has to be a pushover. DD could definitely portray those  mixed emotions.

I do not want to see a baby switch story. BTG shouldn't be heading to the soap cliche stories at this point.

She could simply adore Vernon, but dislike Anita. Anita needs a rival for top diva in Fairmont Crest. Another character that could shake things up would be the woman with the wig askew that Naomi mentioned, but I'd like to see Roxanne Reese in that part (she was the drunk lady on Martin). There need to be some other powers in Fairmont Crest besides the Duprees.
