Not directly related to BeyondTheGates, but relevant to CBS and Black History Month.
And ...

With Nischelle Turner hosting this CBS special, and her also doing a cameo on BeyondTheGates, *maybe* she'll mention BTG during the special? (speculation only)

CBS airing special in primetime Monday Feb. 17, 2025,
"On TV: A Black History Month Special"
(History of Black TV people on CBS shows)

The description reads: "Join Entertainment Tonight co-hosts Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner for an inspiring celebration of Black excellence in television. Stars from beloved series like The Neighborhood, NCIS, and S.W.A.T. share personal stories and reflections, while honoring the trailblazing pioneers who transformed the entertainment landscape. Discover the remarkable journey and enduring impact of Black artists who continue to shape the future of television."

Television Academy interviews Nischelle Turner and Kevin Frazier about this special:
https://www.televisionacademy.com/features/online-originals/entertainment-tonight-hosts-kevin-frazier-nischelle-turner
"ET executive producer Erin Johnson came to us and said they’d like to do a Black History Month special featuring CBS shows and how they impacted history. We were excited about doing something so personal to us."

In the Television Academy interview, Nischelle and Kevin discuss their personal histories and also credit various shows and TV personalities from the past.  (in this Academy interview they mention also non-CBS shows, but the special will be about CBS shows)

The first-ever monthly discussion thread is now live. The purpose is to discuss the show and its episodes.

This thread will remain active and will house much of what you see in the historical threads for the other current soaps, including B&B, DAYS, GH and Y&R.

I didn't know about the sneak peeks so now I'll be double checking my system to be sure that I have those available, too.

UPDATES:  New details provided by @Errol here:
https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/68201-btg-february-2025-discussion-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1994365

  • Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Karla Mosley, and Daphnée Duplaix will all appear on this Feb. 17, 2025 primetime CBS Black History Month special.

  • When I mentioned the Television Academy (text-based) online interview, I said they mention some non-CBS people in that interview; but the primetime special will be only CBS shows.  UPDATE/Clarification: the Academy interview mentions the Wayans family from "In Living Color", which wasn't on CBS; but however, the Wayans will be on the CBS primetime special because they now star in Poppa's House on CBS.

I mentioned this on another thread, following up here:
Regarding the B&B reruns week of Feb. 17-21

Don't know what will happen with B&B fashion -- now, since the amazing Jeresa Featherstone went over to BTG.

OHHHH.  maybe that's why the B&B reruns airing week of Feb. 17-21 were chosen?
Mon Feb. 17 Eric/Ridge fashion show October 2023 -designed by Jeresa Featherstone (she has pics on her instagram)
Tues Wed Thurs Feb 18, 19, 20:  June 2023 remote shoot in Rome:  They had to use some Italian designers to do business cross-promotion and fund the trip; but still Jeresa Featherstone was there, I saw her in many BTS pics/videos from when they filmed those episodes.
(Can't explain Friday Feb 21 B&B rerun -- why they chose Dec. 12, 2024, unless it relates to a current storyline.)

My TVListings show it will air on:

Pop-TV, LOGO-TV, TVLand.

(presumably also on Paramount Plus at some point,
either live or delayed, depending on your plan.)

I seem to remember that they plan to promote BTG that night.

We can't say they're trying to hide the show. I will give it to CBS for going all out.

I wouldn't mind seeing the stars do talk radio in the District back home, if they haven't. Or (I know) The Breakfast Club.

I wonder if they’ll be appearances on CBS Mornings as well next week. I know both Tunie and Duplaix will be hitting the NYC promotional circuit heavy next week, leading up to the Paley Center event on Thursday.

Would be nice to have one of them guest on The Daily Show as well next week, but CBS definitely deserves kudos for all they’ve done to promote the show.

    • The timing is strange, though. How far in advance would they normally be on location? The Achille Lauro hijacking was on October 7, 1985. Nancy had arrived in Egypt in the storyline by October 18. But the character of Hawk, Chris' Native American friend from Arizona, had already appeared onscreen by September and brought a letter telling Chris to be in Egypt by October 25th.  Why did they already have the link to Arizona before the reason to cancel the shoot in Egypt?  The dust and the jar it came in were from Egypt though. Nancy bought it there and sent it to Mac as a gift before she came back to the states and followed Chris to Arizona.
    • Actually that is not what happened. Nor is the timing right for it to have been. We learned from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay  in 2006, which can be found on YT, that it was Fred Silverman's idea to do the 90 minute show. I don't know how much you know about him but he had these amazing successes as head of daytime at both ABC & at CBS. Then he came to NBC where basically everything he touched turned NOT TO GOLD but to shite. Some of the most expensive shows ever produced up to that time were huge flops. Although even he, like a broken clock, could be right on occasion. However, as we know, he was not right about the 90 minute show. As a matter of fact, afterward,  NBC programmers, who worked FOR him, were asked why they did it & they were quoted as saying it was because they couldn't think of anything else to try. It was a stupid idea from a man who had reached the point where he was throwing anything at the wall to see if it would stick.

    • I stopped watching Another World in 1990. Simply, lost interest in the show.  I had watched the show from 1973 to 1990. The 90 minute show started the decline of AW.  NBC panicked with expanding AW due to the GH hoopla. As mentioned above, 1982 was a trainwreck for AW.  The introduction of the Shea family, the movie storyline involving Jamie, and Steve Frame favoring Rachel over Alice. The writers went into that direction due to the forgettable performance of Linda Borgeson.

    • Ive seen that theory thrown out but the one thing against it is that Leslie and her family lived in Chicago. She only came back to DC last year after her husband died. Unless they say Alan made a trip to DC and died while away, she wouldnt know about that. However I do think the angle of her finding out that Martin was involved could work as that gives her leverage against Bill too for covering it up. She'd want to get revenge on him by threatening to have him disbarred
    • What a good write-up @Errol! Nice seeing the nod to Duplaix's lead.
    • The Egypt location shoot was cancelled because of the Achille Lauro cruise ship hijacking
