Members te.
I'm stunned that not only a new soap is being developed, but that it's being developed for broadcast. I assumed the next time we'd see a new soap would be for an online streamer! On one hand, it hasn't been ordered yet, but on the other hand would they bother putting it into development if they weren't viewing this as a sure thing to go to broadcast?
Members BoldRestless
And in consultation with freakin' P&G! I had to reread the article several times to understand it said what I thought it said!

Members Soapsuds
Wow! This is huge news!! P&G back in soaps? Does this mean they are finally cancelling The Talk?
Members Vee
I missed that part too. Procter & Gamble. Remarkable. Paging @DRW50 @DramatistDreamer and others I'm sorry to forget.
Members Soapsuds
Come on CBS and P&G....bring back ATWT too!! I know the person now in charge of CBS daytime was a huge ATWT fan.
Members Vee
I'll believe it when it exists onscreen, but this doesn't seem to be the same thing as that fly-by-night Pine Valley effort a few years ago which I was always skeptical about. I think the only thing keeping that in the mix for a year or two was the star power of Kelly and SMG.
Members BoldRestless
Imagine if Victoria Rowell is involved in this... ok, I'm really getting my hopes up now...
Members NothinButAttitude
And its Michele ValJean's creation!!! I really hope this shifts daytime back to being that it girl again and leads to the revival of ATWT, GL, and other P&G shows.
Members Rmodelboy
I'm very shocked and excited about this. A new daytime soap in this day and age and a predominantly black one at that. Well I'll be damned.
Members Contessa Donatella
What an amazing opportunity for her & for us as fans!!! How many years has it been since a new soap was created!! Since the year 2000!
Members Vee
I still don't think broadcast has a long-term future for soaps, but I do think GL in particular could do well on streaming in a tweaked format focusing on the families and suburban aesthetic more, in the ways Nancy Curlee, etc. so eloquently laid out. But I and others have laid out our convoluted ideas for those revamps many times before. GL and AMC sort of epitomize that Americana tapestry to me.
