Members Chris B
That new promo was excellent! I love how they've kept dropping stuff at a steady pace since the first promo. They're doing a good job of pacing themselves, building awareness and building excitement. Whatever happens in February, I'm completely confident in their ability to promote this show. It'll be up to the viewers to show up but it's clear they know what they're doing and are invested in promoting the show. One thing I found interesting about the trailer were the multiple examples of location shooting using the Assembly facades. I hope that is a regular thing. Doesn't need to happen every episode but it does open the series up and modernize it which will be important to draw in a new audience. I love the fact that they were actually able to play a car crash which typically that is almost impossible for a soap to pull off. Those little touches add so much to these shows.

Members Paul Raven
OK That promo looked better , obviously reflecting what we will see onscreen.
Webmaster Errol Posted January 27 Author Webmaster Share Posted January 27 The trailer was "exclusive" to Essence magazine. Usually, when an outlet gets exclusivity, that's how it is done. The only way for an unlisted video to get shared is when someone with knowledge of its existence shares the link with others publicly. CBS might make the link available to others in the future, but it's likely to be re-uploaded as we get closer to the premiere instead since the upload date would appear older in terms of sorting by date as it pertains to the aforementioned algorithm.
Members Contessa Donatella
From the ESSENCE magazine's website: The text reads: History is being made in modern television with the upcoming premiere of Beyond The Gates, the first-ever, one-hour Black daytime drama to air on television. CBS has officially released the highly anticipated trailer for the series, giving audiences a glimpse into the groundbreaking show that promises to reshape the daytime drama landscape. Set to debut on Monday, February 24, 2025, Beyond The Gates will air weekdays at 2:00pm ET on CBS and will also be available for streaming on Paramount+. This historic series marks a significant milestone—it’s been over two decades since a new daytime soap hit the airwaves, so this show is impacting the industry in more ways than one. And, the visual on the mag's website: Please register in order to view this content I think this is my favorite still photo of the core four! Members BetterForgotten
Blex media, another black-owned media property, has also posted the extended trailer on their platforms. Love that CBS is prioritizing black-owned businesses with the rollout of promotion for the show. Again, this show needs to succeed with the black female demographic, it’s obvious that’s the demographic CBS is prioritizing given who they’ve given the promotional exclusives to.
Members Contessa Donatella
Well said, and I also love that they seem to be, regularly & consistently, checking off ALL the boxes! They are really tip-top & also one might say very well-organized! No slouches here.

Members Khan
That's when you know it's about to get real ghetto up in here, lol! Well, it DOES seem like an appropriate time to remind everyone: (Damn, I wish Jonelle Allen and Vivica A. Fox were part of the BTG cast. I seriously wish the catfight had lasted the entire episode with no other storylines featured. That would have been BOSS.) Members BetterForgotten
And MVJ wrote that catfight, too! She’s still friends with Vivica and Jonelle to boot!
Members Khan
Jonelle and Vivica will show up very soon on BTG. If I keep speaking it into the universe, it will happen. (Alas, Richard Roundtree also joining the show will not. Please register in order to view this content )
Members Contessa Donatella
Last year MVJ tweeted that she had written that catfight & I was literally amazed. I mean those two, lovely & remarkable women, nearly destroyed an entire apartment & it took a grown-ass man a few tries to break them apart. Nothing in the world like it!
Members Liberty City
And, I'm going to note: nothing about this felt "ghetto" or "ratchet". Camp? Yes. But it felt like soap. The "swoop" sound of the shoes flying off Jonelle Allen's feet will always be hilarious to me, and the way she pulled up the train of her dress, haha.
