At this time, I have been mourning the loss of a loved one, in addition to juggling a number of other matters (not ready to come back regularly) but after just hearing this news, I had to visit this site at least once to pay my regards Ms. Hubbard. This post says nothing but the truth.

Heartbreaking news. She was such a force on-screen, it seems unfathomable that she's gone. Lucinda was a full-on anti-heroine, who infuriated you one moment, and broke your heart the next. It was always clear Liz embraced the contradictions of her character fearlessly.  They don't make them like her anymore.

Awwww ... this hurts my heart and a constant daily reminder that our circle of life ends somehow. I liked Elizabeth Hubbard. She was so cool. I just hate it because I guess for me, I have a fictional character "locked" in my head and how I remember them. In my mind, that person is ageless, you know?

Many, many, many years later, it's news like this that is sad to read or even hear about. Despite it all, it's our circle of life. How we choose to live it is up to us. Elizabeth Hubbard, along with Beverlee McKinsey and Marj Dusay were always A+ on my report card.

    • Isabella and John never had a platonic friendship.  John and Marlena probably had a more "platonic" friendship in the 90's lol.  John and Isabella were literally married when she got sick.  They weren't buddies.  She had just given birth to his child.
    • Izzy B also had a great platonic friendship with John.  I still remember the scenes where she had to tell him she was sick and that unlike him, she wouldn't recover.
    • I actually did like Isabella's friendship with Jack/Jen.  I feel like a lot of material was forced on Isabella like Victor being her dad, Bo being her brother, the crazy sister, the insta John love affair-none of it was natural to me.  I HATED Izzy B back in the day, but in a rewatch situation she's okay.  Very pushy with RoJohn about the baby and making a choice between her and Marlena though.  Give the man 10 minutes lol. And we obviously have reached an impasse re Marlena.  Loved her from the first second I saw her lol.  I don't ever find Marlena dull, but I can see how people could find her cold.  That's just Deidre Hall I think.
    • I loved her from the moment she and Jack started having scenes in Bayview. It was not about her pairing with John, it was about her helping Jack on his first steps to regaining some of his past better self. I did love her with John, but mostly I loved her for herself, and for helping guide Jack and Jennifer in those early days when they needed their heads banged together. And I don't really have a reason to dislike Marlena, but I always have going back to 1986. Maybe it is because she was just constantly on and off the show and I never bonded to her, and then once she came back I found her very cold and dull.     Thank goodness Ron is gone or Leo would have been there comforting Marlena and giving the eulogy.

    • Lol.  I don't even really have a reason to hate Isabella-I just do.  She was objectively a very nice character with frizzy hair.  I just don't get the love for her.  To me she was such a short blip on the John timeline and no one would remember her if she didn't die tragically.
    • Lemay had submitted his storyline projections just before the strike occurred.  So I'm assuming TPTB used some of the material in his projections during the strike.  Or at least used them to prepare for his full-time return as the strike was winding down, so the show would be in decent shape when he officially became head writer.
