Oh, that's so cool. I didn't realize that the character of Lauren (Fenmore) was initially supposed to be a short-term role.

YUP if I remember correctly it's one of the longest current marriages on soaps

It's more press about GH's 60th than YR's 50th too...

Pairings tend to stay together when they have no story. Molly and TJ on GH have been dating for a decade and they're in their 20s!

Michael and Lauren should be heavy in story with their adult son. But the children of legacy characters mean nothing on this show anymore if they were born after 1996.

I think so, too. And yes, it’s my biggest wish for the episode!! If we do, then I’ll have seen all 4 of my favorite characters’ introductions to the show: Kay, Jill, Nikki, and Lauren!

 We definitely should be getting some rare 80's clips, including her first scene! 

I remember that to be the case sadly for GH's 50th anniversary vs Y&R's 40th 10 years ago, where GH got more press as well as a 20/20 Primetime special highlighting the soap. Y&R never seems to get that popular press, though it deserves to be as highly regarded as GH has been. Y&R is the better of the two...I'm gonna say it!

Zack Tinker is returning as Fen on 1/25.

CBS/Sony could if they wanted to. There's no reason why Y&R's cast and crew wasn't at the Television Critic's Association event.
