With his character becoming the first victim to perish after an attack by The Hook, a new serial killer threatening the lives of Port Charles citizens, actor Johnny Wactor concluded his run as Brando Corbin on the Tuesday, September 20 episode of “General Hospital.”

In an interview published in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, on newsstands Friday, Wactor tells the outlet that his final days on the show were very hectic, “because I was filming so many pages, I didn’t really have time to kind of think or be emotional or reflect on anything.” However, following his final taping, “I gave a little speech. I knew that I would want to say something just because of my time there and my relationships with the people in the cast and crew. I was a little emotional.”

Wactor had only been with the show since his first on-air appearance in January 2020, but it wasn’t his choice to leave the series. “I’ve got no bad blood and I wish everyone at ‘GH’ the best,” Wactor noted of learning his character was being written out.

“Sad day for Brando… but honestly had fun filming a rain scene and working with @johnnywactor,” shared co-star Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina Davis) in a post on her Instagram story entitled “Bittersweet.”

“RIP ‘Brando Corbin’, could not have been played by a better Actor. Love ya Johnny!” wrote co-star David Lautman (Grant Smoltz), who shared a clip (shown below) of Brando’s death scene on his Instagram story. In response, Wactor said, “Thank you brother. Enjoyed working with you. And may Smoltz live on to wreak more havoc!”
