A triumph of a life: the good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm not for the royals having any sort of power, but as characters of pop culture I've always been intrigued. And those who have created/adapted programs such as The Crown have given me immense entertainment through the years of my life and will probably continue to do so. 

It feels weird to say goodbye to the only Queen I, and many others, have ever known. Rest in Peace Queen Elizabeth II!

I'll reiterate that: There's a lot to process, the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm not going to get on my high horse about it but I'm also not going to venerate her as a saintly figure above criticism or reproach. She lived a hell of a life though. My friends in the UK have a lot of thoughts about her, lol.

I think King Charles will run a leaner, less ostentatious, monarchy with fewer professional royals and lower costs.  I also think his commitment to the environment will be popular.

The big questions are: (1) How long will they wait for a coronation? (2) Will Camilla wear a crown to the ceremony? And (3) will Meghan attend both the funeral and the coronation?

If the most recent status made UK citizens Elizabethans, are they now going to be Charlestons (lol)?

Queen Elizabeth passes away almost 1 1/2 years after Prince Phillip's death and in the year that marks the 70th anniversary of her ascension to the throne after the death of her father King George, the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana's death, and the 20th anniversary of Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother's deaths.

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla, I cannot wrap my head around that.

I hope the day of her funeral will be on the weekend, or that day will be declared a national holiday here in Canada, because I’d like to watch it live.   Also, I wonder when we’ll start seeing Charles face on our money.

I mean, it’s largely ceremonial anyway, so I don’t see it drifting away that easily. That said, having spent time in various parts of the UK, there is a general apathy about the thought of still having a royal family from big parts of the population. There is an overwhelming sense that it’s an idea out of touch with modern British values from some.

If I’m honest, i’ve always felt like the royals were much more beloved in the commonwealth than in the mainland UK from my experience.

A 70 reign is nothing to sneeze at though and I don’t think anyone can doubt just how devoted she was to her nation and its causes.

      OH, I AM.   And it looks like it's a pretty good episode so I might watch later on this weekend after work cuz I see a lot of scenes with people I actually like. Very happy to see Rocco/Danny appear to be getting story, too.

      I do agree that a revival of EON would work, if it doesn't fall into doing all of the typical soap opera tropes... which it became guilty of in the final few years of the show with the over abundance of Raven/Sky at the expense of the actual detectives, police, etc. And I know it was mentioned earlier that Raven had lost any true connections on the show with the death of her on screen mother, and the loss of April/Draper/Deborah.. and I do agree with that. I actually thought the show would have done something with the Shelley character that could have connected her to the Raven character.  There were a few scenes where the two would have scenes and size one another up before they would go their separate ways.. so I assumed perhaps they would have been revealed as half-siblings and/or perhaps cousins.  Alas.. not to be.

      It definitely flowed beautifully. So much that I was annoyed when Vanessa/Doug because I wanted to get back to the party. I know it was intentional to build up tension and suspense. It worked. lol. I'm glad it was there in hingsight because it gave us that great conversation between Doug and Vanessa. Foreshadowing? And yesss!!! This episode was sooo old school soap giving beat after beat after beat leading up to the unveiling of Eva as Ted's daughter. And we still have plenty of fallout/aftereffects to work through.   Speaking of...Bill, Bill, Bill lol. Good to have confirmation HE was the scary lawyer.   I'm sure I will have a busy Monday, but I can't wait for it. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Probably Anita vs Silk Press Sheila tbh. And yes, I feel they will be matching each other 'blow for blow.'

      @AbcNbc247 maybe it is just that they've gone to that well too often, and I don't like when DAYS goes dark, but I'm OK with EJ abusing drugs, and just skipping the whole sobriety part. Side note: experiencing hallucinations of my son killing me would be enough for me to never want to take a pill again.

      Part of the reason that Courtney worked at OLTL was because the show had an actual character for her to play.  One that was somewhat different than her character on AW, and after the way she was treated over at AW.. it had to have been nice to be courted onto a new soap that actually valued your contributions.
