Peacock is ready to unveil the next chapter of the “Days of our Lives” spinoff series “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem.” The streaming service today released the official trailer and key art for the show’s five-episode second season which drops daily beginning Monday, July 11 through Friday, July 15.

In the minute-long trailer, we stumble upon Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) tied up in a room planning their escape which likely takes place later in the plot as we’re then shown scenes of Steve appearing alongside Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) as they pay a visit to their children in Seattle, including Stephanie and Joey (Abigail Klein and Tanner Stine), and Tripp (Lucas Adams) who Steve had from a prior encounter with Ava (Tamara Braun). Earlier this month on the parent series, Tripp left Salem with plans to connect with his siblings.

Meanwhile, for the first time in two years, Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso) is reunited with her daughter, Ciara (Victoria Konefal), and for the first time ever is introduced to her grandchild, Beauregard “Bo” Brady Weston. Also shown is Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) who has been MIA for more than 34 years but somehow pops in with ties to Hope while appearing in several disguises, including as a Naval officer, a pizza delivery man, a police officer, and a secret government spy. Ciara is later heard asking Hope who is at the door when we’re shown a stern-faced Harris standing opposite a stunned Hope. Their encounter is set to take place in Montreal.

Leaving Salem in November 2018 after learning Will (Chandler Massey) still had feelings for Sonny (then played by Freddie Smith), Paul (Christopher Sean) is back in San Francisco and this time it looks like he’ll be finding love again. Appearing in a fitness gym locker room, Andrew Donovan (Colton Little) is seen asking Paul, “How are you on frequent flier miles?” Andrew is the eldest son of Kimberly and Shane Donovan and hasn’t been seen or heard from since at least 1997. Paul is the son of John Black from a prior relationship with Tori Narita. Look for John to travel to San Francisco to see his son.

With the next chapter promising old favorites and brand new faces, the globe-trotting adventure jumps from Montreal to Monte Carlo and to Hong Kong, among other popular destinations, as viewers are pushed even further beyond Salem where the past and present collide for the ultimate “Days of our Lives” event.

The trailer includes an appearance by Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) who wonders what his “fancy face” is up to when Hope is shown pulling out a top secret folder with the ISA logo on the front. Bo died a few years ago but recently appeared as an Angel to help save Tripp’s life after the young man had sacrificed himself to help rid the town of the Devil. Also shown is Angela (Loretta Devine), an angel who interacts with Bo and is none too pleased with his recent actions.

Gabi and Li (Camila Banus and Remington Hoffman) get busy on the top floor of a high-rise tower while Kristen (Eileen Davidson) is shown being her normal sneaky self. Look for Joey and Tripp to place their bets when their encounter with Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) goes from catching a mystery person off guard to them putting all their cards on the table for some fun and games. Lastly, Harris can be seen holding his own mystery person at gunpoint on the open seas.

With a mix of sex, gambling and heaven, John and Steve prepare to take on the big bad villain when Steve proclaims, “Now, let’s get to work.” And so begins another chapter of “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem.”

Watch the official trailer below.

As shown in the official key art below with the “B” and “H” weddings rings, the overall plot will center on Bo and Hope and their decades-long relationship in a tale filled with larger-than-life romance, jaw-dropping twists, and high-stakes drama that all connects back to a memorable plot that originated on “Days of our Lives” long ago.

Doesn't it sound familiar to the story pitched to Kristen Alfonso prior to her resignation?

As I recall, Hope was supposed to take some time off screen and then return with a mysterious government agent

While she had been contemplating leaving for the past couple of years, her abrupt exit was triggered by a plan for her character, Hope Williams Brady, relayed to her by Days executive producer Ken Corday, which involved Hope being written off for 4-5 months before coming back to have a storyline with a Navy Seal. - Ken Corday in Deadline https://deadline.com/2020/07/kristian-alfonso-explans-days-of-our-lives-exit-reason-what-prompted-holly-how-will-she-be-written-off-1202988171/

Reminds of...

Dorothy: Oh, come on, no matter what- Oh, my God! "Does your face look like this? Do your hands look like this? You need Ponce de Leon Antiaging Cream." [laughing, then seriously] I'd sue.

The "heaven" set looks like absolute [!@#$%^&*]. I get what they were going for -  I guess sort of A Matter of Life and Death situation where people can look from there, but blah.

I also like how they try to sell all these locations like they were there - uh, like it's re-dressed sets + some stock footage. The "Living in Cin" boat... criiiiiiiiiiiiiiinge.

I wonder if Bo and Hope are going to come back to the main show now that Kristian's been lured back into the fold.

    • Here's the Days ones: https://www.jason47.com/days/synopsesdsn1974A.html
    • I think Dani cares about her sister, but I agree with you. She's using this whole mess to be heard and make herself feel better. I wish Ted and Eva told her to fck off. I had to laugh when Dani commented on her and Anita confronting Ted. She acted as if they destroyed him. That's not what I saw. Dani has been dialed back from those first weeks, but I can't say she's likable. As long as she's throwing shade at Eva for her work as a hairstylist -- while ignoring that she did nothing except eat celery sticks and walk the runway -- she can kiss off. Barely tolerable, and Lindstrom is terrible in the role. I don't find him scary at all, and his money laundering plan is stupid as hell. I gagged when he texted Vanessa to ask if she was thinking about him. That's throw up time.   I just don't see how that makes Ashley any more interesting. And are we really asking for another storyline where a father connects with his adult daughter? I know there's no direct parallel to Eva's story, but come on. If you're in the minority, I'll join you. I have zero interest in any of that. -- I still fail to see Nicole and Vanessa as best friends. Nicole is grounded and stable and responsible, and Vanessa is not. It made more sense to have Dani and Vanessa being close. -- Ashley and Derek were actually OK today. I feel sorry for the actors, honestly, because they've been given nothing. It's crazy, because so much of the rest of the show is firing on all cylinders.
    • Same. But given how the writers like to have her have good moments and bad moments...and Dani has been background as of late...it's about time she had some bad moments.
    • I don’t even know why you responded to the bait.
    • I only watch for Sharon and she’s barely on. The only good thing going at the moment is Jack and Diane scenes and they’ve made Diane such a wuss lately which is making that unbearable to watch too
    • I feel like Earl Hamner and his crew brought in Richard* BECAUSE they knew almost right away that Robert Foxworth was so dull as Chase.  At any event, Richard, IMO, proved to be much more interesting as Angela's chief adversary. (*Or brought him back, depending on whether we're including the original "Vintage Years" pilot).
    • And it will also eventually air S2, which will air its finale in Canada this Thursday, May 15th! https://tvline.com/news/law-and-order-toronto-criminal-intent-season-1-2-the-cw-1235449356/ As an American that has managed to watch it in real time, it's very good. Frankly, I think it's the best of the L&O franchise as of now.
    • You are getting like me. It's getting to the point that without any Damian sightings...it's been the fashion that is holding my interest. And it should not be that way at all.
    • I don't mind Jan either. If anything, they could be using her more to get her daughter's POV. Not to mention her role as one of the Have-Nots.    I also don't mind the local talent. Just look at soaps that were in NY or the shows that film there, they always go for the local talent and we get to find new faves.
