I don't think it's weird.  I think it tastes fine.  I honestly wouldn't think twice about someone doing that in front of me and mayo is delicious.  It is silly that was made out to cement how Lani/TR were father/daughter.  I am not even sure anyone in my immediate family has the same tastes as me

Found it.   Maggie gave Sarah Neil's stethoscope on December 20, 2018.  This convo doesn't say Neil passed away.  But it's sort of implied.

Sarah: What's that?

Maggie: Um, I was going through your fa-- some of your father's things the other day, and I found that, and I-I know he would want you to have it.  [Chuckles softly] He would be so proud of his little girl, that she's continuing the tradition of helping people and saving lives. I'm so proud of you too.

Thanks! I was going back and forth in my mind if it was a pen or stethoscope lol.   For some reason, I got the impression Neil didn't die recently because if he did he would have known she was on track to being a Dr. and had been a Dr. for awhile when she arrived in Salem.

Man, those were some dark, dark hours.  I remember watching some of that and thinking, "Would they have tried this if Erin Torpey were still playing Jessica?".

Killing Neil Curtis in my opinion, was a huge blunder. I feel like they could have brought him back from “his rounds” formed a relationship with Sarah and I could see Sarah having a similar relationship with Neil as Mike had with Bill.

Maggie has aged, but Kayla, Tony and Anna haven't and “Alex Marshall” in the same age bracket as “Renee” LOL.

DAYS is obviously so fond of bringing back people on an off-contract/recurring basis, they could have done the same for Joe Gallison (unless, of course, JG is not at an age where he'd be up for returning even occasionally).

It's seems like it would have been a great oppurtunity for Neil to at least pop back in and introduce Noel.  JG is 87, so he may not have wanted to but I actually think Gloria Loring would be open to doing at least a brief return.

I want to stop making fun of Days stories, but each day gets a little worse especially with the Sarah story.

Even the off screen stuff is stupid.  Marlena just spent the night with Belle tied up upstairs and didn't inform anyone in the household?

Believe me, I hear ya, lol.  IDK whether *I* can truly refrain from mocking or tearing apart this show and Ron Carlivati's godawful writing.  I know I should just...move on, but I also know it's never easy.

She behaved nothing like any human being anyone has ever known - but you're right, that's a whole other thing.

Ugh.  As much as I would LOVE to see GL/Liz again, I DREAD what "magic" someone like Ron Carlivati would have in store for her, lol.

He'd probably make her a wacky singing villian out for revenge against Maggie or Marlena for no reason.  Much like RC decided to make Diana Coleville an entirely different person to introduce......Leo.   Who wasn't even John's son so what was the point of that?

Yeah and he's not acted in about a decade so I suspect he's reached an age where he's not just acting. Not everyone is Bill Hayes unfortunately, so the only other option is probably to recast and in all honesty, DAYS has enough players on the canvas that are 70+. I think killing Neil off is the right decision in this case, since the character has no use without the OG actor and his kid is on the canvas so they need to adress it.

    • Also, the lawsuit story was not the right story to bring Naomi and Bill into a court battle since those types of lawsuits are usually resolved via settlements.
    • I know that Sara did eventually become Carrie's therapist, but I was curious if the show had her make comments regarding Carrie's stunts of making it seem as though Justin was cheating on Jackie.  Given that Justin cheated on Sara with both Jackie and Brandy, I wondered if it was wise of her to counsel Carrie given the conflict of interest involved. @DRW50I think once Adam/Sara end up married.. Marland didn't see any reason to explore Sara's personal life after the actor playing Adam was released.  I know that Sara lasts until at least Christmas 1982 on the show.. but I don't think she ended up staying on for very long into 1983. The period between Marland quitting and Pam Long starting was the perfect time to clean house on characters that had outgrown their usefulness  (i.e. Ben, Evie, Sara, Jennifer, Morgan).. and tying up stories started by Marland that were too complex (Mona Enright, Mark/Jennifer/Amanda triangle).
    • Unpopular opinion:  The focus on the soap opera tropes over the mysteries and crimes was partly what did the show in.  Also, featuring characters not involved in the legal, police, and criminal elements also hurt the show and took away what made it unique. Featuring characters like Jody, Raven, Sky, etc hurt the show long term.  The show ABCified starting in 1976/1977 and then went through a youthification period starting in 1981.
    • I feel like the lawsuit storyline was resolved quickly because the show didn’t want to spring for more sets.
    • It's been a while, but we have seen the foyer to Bill and Hayley's house as well as the exterior entrance to their house. The foyer was first seen in the premiere episode when Hayley met Vanessa at the house.
    • There's still a year or two before Larkin arrives. Joel is there already. EON does noticeably youthify, although I think they carry it off. Admittedly I haven't seen most of the Jody stories, which from what people here have said aren't great.
    • I don't mind the actor who plays Brian. He's fine. The problem for me is that Paige seems so wishy wishy. She doesn't seem to have much of a personality at this point so I don't see why Brian would be so besotted with her. She just lurches from one trauma to the next. Granted, it's only been a month, but she's not as vibrant as April or even Deborah who has had minimal screen time by this point.  I do worry about the influence of GH on the show since I'm in fall of 1979 and characters have conversations and there's not the drive to "youthify" the show. However, I think Marceau (sp?) is gone. He was given a rather tame sendoff. How long was the actor on the show? I hope this is not a sign of things to come. I worry the show is setting up a murder mystery around one of my favorite characters and I will be mightily annoyed. I also noticed in recent Search for Tomorrow episodes uploaded to YT that the actors playing Logan and Eliot showed up. I don't watch the show but they were in the screencaps. When does Larkin Malloy show up or has he already left? Joel Crothers hasn't shown up either unless I've blinked and missed him.
    • Dr Linden. She treated Vanessa's drug addiction (although Vanessa seemed to forget that by Henry's suicide attempt) , and she's mentioned during Reva's PPD. Although I can't recall if she's actually shown right off the top of my head. She probably was temporarily shelved when Sonni was a therapist (between her crazy times) And I think Billy sees her after he falls off the wagon after Reva's death.
