Murder, She Wrote appeals to viewers of all walks of life. It doesn't feel outdated at all and there's still that feeling of comfort and warmth when watching it.

Murder, She Wrote was a show I took for granted as a kid/teen but its a show I appreciate so much more as an adult. I think it will live on forever in reruns, DVDs, streaming.

ICAM.  There aren't too many shows that hold up as well 40+ years later, but MSW is one that does; and I think that's because it never chased any trends.  Instead, MSW set out only to entertain, and they did that very, very well.

I've got nothing against Jamie Lee Curtis but..... no!

Same. I just... don't see it at all. I cringe just at the thought of it.

Trying to recast Jessica Fletcher would be like recasting J.R. Ewing.

Jessica Fletcher = Angela Lansbury!

Yep, I think she is one of these parts/roles that shouldn't be touched.

Murder She wrote was about an American version of Miss Marples.. who was warm and grandmotherly... yet had strong observant and analytical skills to solve mysteries.

I could buy Angela's Jessica Fletcher having friends, family, and a host of other co workers that invited her to wonderful places where mystery seemed to follow her.

Jamie Lee Curtis seems so harsh and judgmental that she is the wrong actress to even be associated with Murder She Wrote.   There has to be a more logical and superior choice to headline this movie.

I'm surprised that MSW fans on Reddit would consider "When Thieves Fall Out" to be the series' worst episode.  It's not a GREAT episode, but I label it as the worst.  For me, that dishonor goes to "Goodbye Charlie," lol.

Maybe they only counted episodes where Jessica was the main character and not episodes where Jessica was just the book end host.

That makes perfect sense!

In that case, I'd have to say it's a tie between "What You Don't Know Can Kill You" (s12, ep22) and "Mrs. Parker's Revenge" (s12, e23) for worst, non-bookend MSW episode, with "Parker" having the slight edge on account of the episode feeling like a recycled "Wonder Woman" or "Matlock," penned by someone (Anne C. Collins) who wasn't all that familiar with the show or with J.B. Fletcher.
