I found the mini series incredibly juicy and the perfect set up for a tv show. It felt incomplete to me as a miniseries. I feel you could’ve taken that story and done an entire first season that likely would’ve been successful.

The NBC reboot didn’t grab me in terms of the story. I notice most episodes were written by the same person which may have been a bad choice. They had a very strong female cast, but the males were lacking. I also don’t understand why they killed off Chase who was so important to the mini series.

March 27, 2025:  Genie Francis, interviewed by Stephanie Sloane.
Genie says a little bit about each of some of the primetime, daytime, and miniseries that she's appeared in.

Regarding her role as Tyger Hayes on "Bare Essence"....
“I liked doing the miniseries, I did not like doing the series. What I remember mostly about the series was how tired I was. I don’t know what age I was — I think I was 20 — but kids that age really need sleep, and I remember just being exhausted because I was working 13-hour days. I just remember when we got the cancellation, I was happy because I could sleep. And that’s weird, but that’s how I remember it, because I was so incredibly tired working those hours.”
