Nelson Branco? This isn’t 2009 anymore his name is not worth any discussion, he can go back under the rocks with all the lies his Suds Reports were lol.

Back in the day I really enjoyed Jonathan Reiner’s time at the TV Guide website, though I do believe his gay witticisms paved the way for Daniel Coleridge and Nelson Branco.

I have no idea what is going on and don't care about either of them, but nothing is more petty than tweeting about someone coyly then identifying them less than an hour later.   Just say who it is or don't.  Is there even a point lost in all the unnecessary name-calling?

I loved JR and his TV guide stuff.  Whatever happened to him?

He left the journalism originally to produce SoapCenter for Soap Net if I recall right. Last I heard he has had some producer work for various reality shows including Big Brother and worked on production for the Daytime Emmys but that’s been some years now.

I remember this from back in the day. NB dined out on this story for a long time -- he made people try and guess who it was for days.

Not sure what set DD off in the end (if indeed he did assault Branco), but there was some implication that DD interpreted NB asking if CLB should have won the Best Supporting Actor Emmy instead of him. This was back when the Baldwin Fishers were the big thing on Y&R and CLB was popular and somewhat pushed by TPTB.

LOL so true, but honestly, I believe him on this. Doug Davidson screams [!@#$%^&*] to me. I definitely also believe there's deeper reasons he isn't working on Y&R anymore.

I think its a pity that Paul is no longer a part of the show. But obviously there has to be more to the story.

Other recurring characters still get to be seen so ...maybe Doug is at fault somehow but someone higher up made the decision that Paul no longer appear.

Eric Braeden went to bat for him last time but not a peep from anyone this time round.

Hinsey is/was actually back writing for Digest after she fell out with InTouch. But given no one reads SOD anymore she really doesn’t have an audience anymore.  I read an opinion piece by her about B&B’s mannequin story last fall and it was actually a lot more low key than anything she wrote back in the 00’s. It read as more of her observations as opposed her actual opinion lol.

Nellie Oleson and the Daytime Confidential hacks are one of the main reasons I posted a lot here early on. That's the main thing I choose to remember then by...that and sometimes I think of "Soap Opera Spirit award winner" and laugh.

    • Yep Edmund and Tad went under cover to infiltrate the... Willow Lake (I think?) old folks community scandal that was exploiting Phoebe, etc.  (Which at one point led to Edmund rescuing Brooke from quicksand--common around Pine Valley I guess

) EDIT maybe I'm wrong.  I found the quicksand scene

But for the story all I can find is Edmund going undercover as the gigolo "preying" on older women, Eduardo (no one would recognize him with that disguise and name ) so the drag must have been.. a different story?
    • But then he HATES the original Heather Webber (Cher's half sister played her, right?) and we know what happened when Robin would step into the role a year after this.  He does seem pretty spot on about actors who show promise otherwise.  It's interesting he knocks OLTL early on (though I loved all the recently released episodes from this era we got) but does give a lot of credit to the actress playing Cathy despite earlier complaining about her story.  And over all, while quite negative, his various pros and cons on the shows sounds about right with what I know of the shows at this time. This was a July dated issue of the magazine but and I know they date mags a month or two in advance--obviously when he wrote this he didn't know Lovers and Friends was gonna go off the air (in May I think).
    • You know one of the soap outlets posed that question just last week: Who do you want Trina with Spencer or Kai? And, of course, the picture of Spencer was NAC. I said, well, a lot. I chose Kai. I said that Spencer had been an entitled brat & that some people valued him over her, when I valued her above all others. I guess we'll see.
    • You're right. The only thing I can think of is if GH finally decides to bring back Spencer.
    • Sharon Rose Gabet told me on Facebook that she calls this "Baby Raven".
    • I imagine the storyline would now segue into Laura's accident. But I hope they manage to keep Leslie around though. I really don't want her to be written out, or get the DOOL treatment where she just pops up every so often to cause some short term trouble; the character and the actor were such a find.

    • You're welcome! I can't wait to read what your thoughts are... when and if you get into it, of course. "The Mansion Of The Damned" is amazing. It has everything - thriller, horror, crime, drama, soapy madness. Then as soon as it ends... you get Raven's return... which re-starts the whole show for me. So... I'm really happy for you! You're in for a treat.
