That list is also on the page further down. The 95 actors who played two different roles (non-dual) in different stints. Bonnie/Adrienne had always been listed separately until all of a sudden they looked like each other and became a dual role. So, that's why Josh, Tamara Braun, Stacy Haiduk, John Aniston, Paul Telfer and all of the others have their combo numbers on this different list.

TWO OR MORE SEPARATE ROLES:

95 actors are on the list above at least twice, having played roles during at least two different stints. Here are their total episode counts:

Josh Taylor (Roman Brady-1793/Chris Kositchek-1020) 2813

John Aniston (Victor Kiriakis-2731/Dr. Eric Richards-11) 2742
Joseph Mascolo (Stefano DiMera-1871/Dr. Tufano-5) 1876
Renee Jones (Lexie Carver-1638/Nikki Wade-63) 1701
Wayne Northrop (Roman Brady-918/Alex North-130) 1048
Kyle Lowder (Brady Black-662/Rex Brady-88) 750

Rachel Melvin (Chelsea Brady-518/Georgia LaMarque-5) 523

Jacee Jule (Patty-480/Waitress at Alice's-21/Bliss-9/Sandra-7/Ellen-6) 523
Paul Telfer (Xander Kiriakis-312/Damon-7) 319
Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali-116/Taylor Walker-80) 196
Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera & Susan Banks-182/Warden Jane Smith-3) 185

These stats always interest me.  It really shows how much some of these actors were used, even if they had time off between contracts (Peter Reckell, Susan Seaforth Hayes, etc), or huge periods of time when they were never in their own story (Maggie, Mickey) and actors like Susan Flannery that haven’t been on the show since the mid 1970’s, and yet is still in the top 40.  That’s incredible.

This is quite amazing, and it's interesting to me, as someone who never watched this show, scrolling through the names and seeing how many I know as we go lower on the list. Pardon me if this has been asked before, but how were you able to get an accurate count back to 1965 - scripts, recaps?

It's as accurate as can be with what I had access to. The script covers for 1965-1983, but I would notice errors (in Maggie's debut script, which I have the full script of, there are characters in the episode they forgot to list on the cover). Also, there are times when characters would be cut from the episode and not actually air (although maybe that didn't happen as much back in the early 1980s, and probably never in the 60s or 70s). Other script covers would sometimes have characters crossed out (guessing those were cut) and others would have characters hand-written at the bottom (guessing they were forgotten when the script was typed, but added by hand eventually). Also, I have the weekly production charts, which sometimes differ from the script cover, for most of 1969-1973, so those helped catch some additions that would have been missed on the script cover. I've tried for years to get copies of all the weekly cast charts from 1965-1968 and 1973-1983, but to no avail. But, until the episodes actually are aired on TV hopefully someday, we probably won't know the exact accuracy. Hopefully they'll air the episodes someday, and then I can make any corrections that need to be made (which hopefully won't be too many)!!

Agree.  Honestly, @JAS0N47, I don't know WHY Ken Corday doesn't have you on DAYS's payroll as staff historian or something.  You do such incredible work keeping these archives intact and up-to-date.  May you have a FANTASTIC new year!

Thank you, Khan. Happy New Year to you as well!! That would be nice to be paid for doing the stats I love to keep!! At least I know my stats provided Dee, Drake and Kristian with their 4,000th episode parties, so the show has gotten some use out of my record-keeping.

    • Justine had a lot of hooey in it, but she was an actual woman, not a guy in drag. She was a doppelganger of Rachel, French, having had a past history with Carl, etc. Two of the more outrageous parts-Justine bricking alive Vicky into a wall & Justine grinding the gears driving a big rig.
    • Hehe, twi/x actually x, formerly Twitter. Typically I find 2 sources for "crazy fan rumors" - the wrong parts of FB and x. Oy.
    • Not to hijack the thread, but was that character Justine? I just found this interview online with Logan and see what you're talking about - wow!   http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
    • My bad….ill fix that  Fixed
    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
