DAYS actor upped back to contract status

It has to be Ken Corday. On a side note, if not for E.J. Lumi would've remained the central supercouple. The rape mess aside, the chemistry with Sweeney was great with both performers. They could've milked that triangle with those two couples for years if done properly, but I don't know of a single thing DAYS has done completely properly since, what, the early '90s?

Since James Scott has apparently gone off to live in a commune or something and renounced show business, they should ice E.J. for good (or recast him later) and put Lucas back with Sami permanently. They were always great. But again, Corday seems to hate Lucas.

I think Corday hates Bryan Dattilo.  Either that, or BD has recurring personal issues that make keeping him on long-term next to impossible.

Frankly, I don't think Alison Sweeney has chemistry with anyone.  But, if the fans need and want Lumi, then I think giving them Lumi is the least they can do.

Ron always loves doing that sort of thing with offscreen partners because he feels it gives the audience closure on beloved couples. He used to regularly suggest on GH that Robert and Holly were back together even though neither actor would be onscreen at the same time; others too. I don't mind it at times or with older couples, but with Sami still in play and James Scott clearly not at all interested, they should end it.

I don't like the Lani idea, but I do agree with you about Nicole and Chloe. He never had any chemistry with them. His time with Nicole worked well originally, but that's because it was the making of her character. However, it's probably all a moot point anyway because I feel like he'll only be on contract temporarily for whatever the upcoming story is/however long Ali Sweeney sticks around. Using him as a character in his own right doesn't seem likely to me.

    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
