If you can find it through...whatever means, try to watch Marianne's infamous performances on SNL. Her voice was completely gone that night, but it's oddly haunting and enthralling, especially on the second song. It also fits the episode, which is among the most hellish and disorienting in the show's history.

She later sang with Metallica, briefly, in a late '90s episode.

This woman was part of my gay-awakening. I would constantly listen to her songs as an early teen (inspired by the movie Thelma and Louise) and completely in love with her music.

My heart is crying right now.
