It all makes sense with David being the one who accidently shot someone..who turns out to be John's father. I like the idea of how Higley will entwine this story together. Just hope it all plays out great. I am sure it will.

Wasn't the case at all. I wasnt just handpicking HIS comment out.

Love the David/Paige stuff. Probably one of the best stories concieved by Higley in the history of her life. However, the Jess/Tess stuff? So contrived and stupid. I, too, would have preferred the trauma stemming from Mitch and Haver.

I love that Higley created all these good secrets that are taking their time to reveal. The ones left are the absolute truth behind Tess/Jessica and the story behind the woman Spencer wants to avenge. I love OLTL lately, there is so much story that there's never a moment of quiet.

In Higley's defense and I won't rise to it often, abuse and molestation almost always seems to be where everything seems normal. While we have watched Jessica grow up, there is always a different angle to throw in. There are closed doors as viewers that we've not been on the other side of. However, the Niki being out when Jess was that age is a bit much. And hidden? Viki's integration not being successful is really weak in this storyline.

I'm in the minority about this, but I think these two spoilers really sound good. Of course I predicted it would molestation. Though having it be an event that occured while she was held captive by Mitch, would have been better. I'm going to enjoy watching all of this play out on screen.

Higley responded to the fact that Vicki underwent integration in her interview with DAn Coleridge in TVGuide.com in the latter part of last year. Here is part of that interview where she is asked about Nikki and her alters:

She clearly knew that Vicki's personalities had been integrated but chose to ignore it I guess. As she said how could you do this story and not revisit Nikki.

I get so tired of writers ignoring history to sell a story.

Hmm. I guess I could go for that. Nikki always seemed to have a life of her own, much in the same Tess did. In fact, I've been waiting to find out the Tess' last name is Smith, and it hasn't happened. I expected that. Due to her excessive personalities, I can buy complete integration not having happened. And Nikki being the most prominent alternate personality, I can definitely see.

Way back when this story was first coming around, I often wondered if Jessica's conception, which was by rape of Viki by Mitch based on recent history. Now, I don't know if Viki had a specific alter pop up to deal with this part, but what if Niki existed to protect her from this truth? Again, I know very little of pre-2004. I tihnk this story would be/have been stronger had Jessica's conception and therefore, her existence given reason for Niki to stick around. Consider that the truth of Viki's rape didn't come out until recently, THEN Niki being around all this time would make sense. This would indicate she may have been integrated (or appeared to have been). During the time that she wasn't, because of the rape trauma, Jessica being taken to bars by Niki and being molested or whatever did indeed happen to Jessica is totally sellable, IMO. Of course, if I'm completely off in the rape stuff, this wouldn't work. But as far as my knowledge, that didn't come out until Natalie's heritage was revealed and, thus, Jessica's true paternity, as well. Niki's hate for Clint could be yet another great level. Her allowing Mitch to rape Viki could be her way to slight Clint. The pregnancy on top of it all -- yeah. Unfortunately, Higley didn't set this course. Did Niki and Mitch ever have any sort of relationship, romantic, platonic, anything? Anybody's thoughts?

Keith, I have trouble with Nikki not being integrated with the other personalities, but Higley is not the first writer to ignore that important piece of Vicki's history.

Higley coud have made it more believable if Nikki was in the know on the secret or knew what happened to Jessica. Then I could have bought Niikki fighting to stay out to keep people from knowing what she did or something. I don't know it all gets too confusing to even try to figure out.

All of this is another reason I hate these type of rewrites and all, because we as an audience have to suspend reality in order to believe them. Because if you ever stop to figure it all out, you get a headache or get disgusted trying to do so.

Well again, Higley's mistake was making us believe Nikki knew something and then have her say she doesn't and apparently she does? Goes back to my suggestion. By connecting her specifically to Jessica in some way, you connect her directly to Tess and that adds a lessened need for suspending disbelief, because Nikki staying out, yet off-screen, has reason and merit. I don't expect intelligence from Higley. She's a dreamland writer. Always has been.

    • Yes, I am familiar with Fred Silverman. Agree, the 90 minute AW a very poor decision by Silverman. I think Silverman was behind the decision to go with Texas.
    • Thanks -- you're doing God's work The Gio reveal was everything I hoped for and more. GH got it right. Head to toe, GM is a stunning physical specimen.
    • I really wonder how they'll handle Netflix's usual long breaks between seasons. That girl is going to grow up fast... makes me wonder if this wouldn't have been a better fit for HBO Max considering they're leaning into a more broadcast style of production model with The Pitt.
    • I agree -- I didn't suspect Ted, either. I think a lot of people are giving themselves way too much credit in predicting Ted's problems

And can I have a different take on Ted here? Yes, he's made a huge mistake with this Leslie debacle, and yes, he has to suffer and pay for it. But does that make Ted a terrible human being? I don't think it does. He made a horrific mistake over 2 decades ago, and as far as we know, he's been a good husband and father since. As far as we know, he hasn't strayed or violated his marriage since. He didn't know that he fathered another child, and thought he "removed" Leslie from his life. I won't blame Nicole if she doesn't forgive him, but I also won't blame her if she decides what they have and what they've had more than makes up for what he did. Ted is getting dragged far more than Bill is on these boards, and I think Bill is MUCH worse as a husband and father. How many times did he cheat on Dani during their marriage? How many times did he do vile things in his role as fixer? How much did he hurt his daughters by screwing their friend and marrying her? With Keith Robinson coming in as Ted, maybe we'll see a character change in direction and we'll discover that Ted has many flaws and always had a dark side. For now, though, I'm inclined to both be angry with Ted for hurting his family while also sympathizing with him. I know what you mean, but I do think that was intentional. So much was going on in that episode, and I think they decided not to let Nicole's reaction be lost in all that. Nicole will get those scenes that you're asking for.
    • That was the original point of me sending you her 6 airdates, so now with those, and the link to the daily episode guide I've provided, that should help you more easily find the additional Ruth Buzzi scenes. I will always repeat myself when it comes to defending my data that I've taken decades to research and compile. But, as you pointed out in a recent post, I am kind, so at least I will do it with you in a kind way as opposed to the usual social media way most people do with just getting rude/nasty. That's not my style, as you correctly pointed out earlier this week, and never will be.  So, all is well!

    • Ambyr Michelle continues to be *that girl.* She’s just a star, period. Elevates every scene she’s in on the sheer strength of her emotional realism and charisma. Can sell any dialogue. I wish the show veered away from the B&B-style scripting. TMG/Leslie’s tirade stood out, I suppose, but she’s getting a bit mustache-twirly. And I wish DD had more to do in that episode than stand and sob.
    • Well, that was down to CBS being weak and not being willing to just pulling the plug entirely. They didn't want to commit to cancelling the show in case they needed it for their schedule basically; plus they kept showing that they were willing to make cuts if needed to be.
    • I'm sorry but clearly what I've said is not satisfactory to you. I have now read what you have to say, twice. As it happens, my interest at this point is looking at other mislabeled files to find this other Ruth Buzzi content. I do not see any point to each of us repeating ourselves, so I will leave it here.
    • It seemed to be your intent. coming into a thread I started and making multiple posts saying my data was wrong. In the next paragraph you say "Of course, I was suspicious from the very first instance where what I saw & heard did not agree with what it should have.  I'm very glad to know why." That certainly didn't stop you from immediately saying the data was wrong, until I provided additional receipts. Why did you not check the daily episode guide (for instance, this one for the 1980's) I posted for the world to see for exactly this reason...to help confirm airdates: http://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/days-daily-summaries-1980-1989-t15361.html? That is what you should be checking BEFORE you make any posts in the future like this, trying to suggest something from my data is incorrect. You could have also messaged me and asked me why your dates weren't adding up with what the correct data is. I would have fast forwarded through that video you posted, spotted Roman and Hope and immediately have told you that was the 11/1/83 episode.
