Ryan/Erica stopped making sense the minute they put Susan Lucci and Cameron Mathison together in anything resembling a love scene.  Their chemistry was just wrong.

What's funny(not haha funny) is a lot of said for years Erica was such a Ryan cheerleader she should just get together with him and it happened

I thought Nikolas’ obsession and relationship  with Emily’s long-lost twin sister Rebecca was gross. The character was a dud too, the only time I liked her was when she confronted Elizabeth after she saw her having sex with Nikolas. She then left soon after that never to be heard from again.

But the problem is that Susan Lucci plays better romantically with men who appear to be her age or older, rather than with men who appear younger.  Remember when they had Erica briefly involved with Charles Van Eman's Charlie? ;)

It's hard for Erica to be coquettish when she's decades older than her love interest.

Exactly.  Erica was a great many things.  "Cougar" was not one of them.
