I did not see her as Leslie on The Guiding Light, but I never cared for her when she replaced Geraldine Court on As the World Turns.  Maybe if she had played another character (and I know that seducing her sister's husband was a part of the storyline that was written), but I could never stand to watch her.  I did, however, enjoy the scenes of the tornado that struck where she was.   (Was that the Wade Book Store?)

Kathryn Hays did not replace Geraldine Court on the As the World Turns. It was Gillian Spencer who replaced Geraldine Court as Jennifer Hughes.

Thank you for the correction.   I have been ill for almost a year, and memory sometimes confuses things.   I am so sorry to hear of the death of the actress, and I am sure that I probably would have enjoyed seeing her in a different role that had behaved differently.

I have been watching the Locher Room interview with Kin Shriner.   He was an EXCELLENT  recast as Scotty on the serial General Hospital.

ok, so i googled and comfirmed kim was originally played by Kathryn, Patty McCormarck played the character for an extended period in the 1970's the fact is Kim was like Lisa she began Diabolique and later turned Good the trouble perhaps is that her trasition was far quicker than Lisa's

Yes, I remember when Patty McCormick (Young Doctor Malone, The Best of Everything) replaced Ms. Hayes.  This was during the time that Ms. Hayes was suffering from Belle's Palsey.    She returned after getting better.

I can see she was trying to mimic Brenda...but she lacked that delusional regal vibe that Brenda had as Jill.

About recasts:

I didn't like Lynne Adams as Amy on Secret Storm when she replaced Jada Rowland.

I didn't care for Kathryn Hays as Leslie Bauer on Guiding Light.

I didn't like Patty McCormick as Kim on ATWT.

Lynne Adams, Kathy Hays and Jada Rowland was the best on GL, ATWT and Secret Storm.

Anyone remember Kevin Bernhardt as Frisco on GH? I thought he was terribly miscast but TPTB liked him enough to bring him back as a different character for the dull Laurelton Murders storyline.

 

Christine Jones certainly got around. I remember her as Viki on OLTL but didn’t know she filled in for Jane Elliot too.
