October 17, 20196 yr Member Unless RS is alluding to LS returning to the role, I'm surprisingly bummed. Overall, I thought RS did a more than capable job stepping into a role for only 15 epis that had been clearly defined by an iconic actor. While the performance was wildly uneven due to the writing, RS had several solid scenes and I could've seen her continuing. Having Vivian in the mix with a potentially resurrected Stefan/Gabi certainly adds a good dimension to that relationship.
October 17, 20196 yr Member OTOH, I'll always welcome RS back to the show as a new and equally devious character. Salem could use some fresh, non-DiMera, non-Alamain blood.

With Stefan gone and Viv being the cause of it would have set up a very delightful dynamic between Gabi and Viv. But what do I know 🤷♀️
October 17, 20196 yr Member @ChitHappens Right? Gabi as the widow and Viv, who'd get some Kristen-like immunity deal, "Lord-ing' over the DiMera mansion/DiM Enterprises could've been good S/L that would've carried over to the time jump.
October 18, 20196 yr Member She said they wouldn't be using her as Vivian. This is DAYS, she could easily pop up as someone else. I also think she did well enough that it'll put her in the sights of other soaps if they need something short term.

Hey, if a last minute, short-term DAYS gig is what leads Robin Strasser to Y&R as a Gloria recast.... (What? Don't give me that look! You KNOW a Gloria return is inevitable as long as Michael and Kevin remain on that show. So, why not recast that part with someone who doesn't have the acting mannerisms of a B-movie starlet from the 1920's?) Edited October 18, 20196 yr by Khan

I adored the more nuanced take that Joan Van Ark had on the role and have hated Judith Chapman and her scenery chewing from day one. I'd definitely welcome Strasser in that role.

I think Robin would fly as Gloria. That would be a very, very good fit for her for the reason @Chris B says: Joan Van Ark's Gloria was way more nuanced and Robin could do that, we saw it in her last scenes as Vivian...but when it comes to Vivian, I am not at all sad to hear she won't be back because I thought she was atrocious. It seems very odd that they would pointedly tell her they won't be having her back, unless they've already got something confirmed with Louise Sorel, which would be wonderful (though I somehow doubt it).
