Very quietly dismissed. I was amazed to see network shill Brian Stelter, who avoided the topic like the plague initially when CNN tried to bury the initial controversy, mention this online today.

This was from last week but still annoys me. The media has spent a year now working on a narrative about how being "soft on crime" has and will hurt Democrats, but do not bother to hide that they are interested in making this a reality, to the point where a moment that goes against their agenda (like Krasner's huge primary win and the wins of other reformist candidates in Philly) gets no more than a dismissive nod:

Putting the unsettling aspect of billionaires (once again consolidating even more power, which they then exercise over the rest of the population) aside for one moment, someone mentioned that this will mean that Bezos will also effectively be buying "those Apprentice tapes".

Also, with Bezos buying up half the U.S. corporate media and real estate, shouldn't his companies be able to afford to pay every employee and contractor above living wage (I'm not even sure all Amazon employees are being paid a living wage)?

I think this is at least the second Politico piece in the last few months claiming that some in the White House are listening to Larry Summers and reminding us of how important he is.

And I still don't believe them. I think Politico just uses folks like him to launder their own beliefs and opinions - a common practice with sources in the Beltway.
