Seeing as layoffs at Twitter take place tomorrow, I wonder how many will ultimately be laid off? There are some estimations set as high as half, which sounds ridiculous on its face, until you remember how Tesla is run.

I don't know how Tesla manages, but not a smart thing to do in the tech world trust me as someone who worked in the industry.

And Elon Musk is the dumbest billionaire around and that's saying something. So basically a blue check on twitter will end up meaning - NOTHING except I paid for it.

@JaneAusten Rob Kazinsky, best known for his work on EastEnders, talked a bit about this (leading to many "just pay for your checkmark" comments from Elon's sycophants).

Seems like this is really the set target. Whoa.

Twitter is devolving daily and precipitously. I know there are those who don’t want to abandon it because they have invested a lot in their personal Twitter accounts and cultivation of followers but it just looks like no meaningful discourse can take place on that platform at this point, just trolling. If/as it continues, people who value their names and brands will eventually leave the platform.

^^ Yeah, I saw that one coming.

Doesn’t CA (where Silicon Valley is located) have laws about giving adequate notice for these types of layoffs/firings?

Yes. There is a 60 day notice provision in California based on how high the percentage is of layoffs. Mass layoffs as we know can impact the local economy. I'd say a 50% layoff more than easily will meet whatever threshold there is.

I guess people who were laid off are saying they got 8 weeks severance or are on the payroll for 8 more weeks. Not sure. Either way it's not 60 days notice.

There's a lawyer who posts on tik tok and she's helping the people who were fired by Musty. She's pissed and she wants his head on a platter lol

He didn't read the fine print of the contract he signed and he's gonna owe everyone he fired so much money
