The show’s team of correspondents will share hosting duties for the rest of each week. Stewart will also serve as an executive producer and help the show decide on a new, more permanent direction.

Edit to add an fyi:  For Canadians, it will stream the following day on ParamountPlusCanada

"The move comes after Stewart prematurely exited his Apple TV+ show, The Problem, following creative differences between the iPhone maker and its host over potential topics and guests."

The media has been relentlessly attacking Biden on this subject since the '20 primary, while presenting Trump as sharp, brave, and witty beyond human understanding. You can sense just how unhappy they are to have to admit that he is in real decline...so of course it has to be "both sides bad." SNL also made sure to start the last Weekend Update off with a torturous segment along these lines.

What's going to make this whole con job even more desperate is that they can no longer brag they are getting any ratings boost out of their Trump obsession. The interest is not there this time around. It's just flat out carrying water for the moneymen.

(I know it's Semafor, sorry)

"Centrist" media startup The Messenger, plagued by layoffs and BTS drama for months, has collapsed with almost zero warning to staff and no severance along with the entire website nuked.

Thread:

A gossipy Puck piece full of commentary from Puck and Axios staff (both as equally vapid as The Messenger) unfolds here (archived to bypass paywall).

In more startling news, I did not know that Jeff Zucker, perpetually eager for a comeback, is attempting to buy the Daily Telegraph in the UK with Saudi money which he hotly insists will not bias his coverage.
