I don't even want to know what that feels like I know it often happens that way, but devastating. LW seems like she has a lot of supportive people in her life, so hopefully they are helping her through this.

Congrats to him and his fiance. He seems like a very nice guy. 13 hours ago, ChitHappens said: LW lost her dad (a few days ago) and mother in less than 2 months. I always figured Altman was the better writer than Passanntte (there was a few months were Altman head-wrote Y & R solo.. and the material was stronger, and there was a noticeable shift when Passantte joined her as co-headwriter). I see a lot of effort in some ways on their part so they aren't the problem for me. Altman is by far stronger than Passanante was but I don't know that we've truly had the chance because of so much interference anymore. But I think she tries. I'd like to see her without restrictions, with a real budget, and a better producer ... It feels balanced even though it's still a bit all over the place when you have 5,000 characters ... EDIT: I do remember wishing she had been left solo on Y&R ... she's not amazing like some noted scribes were, she doesn't have some of the freedom they once did, but I do think she tries. And I think she uses the vets better than Ron did towards the end of his tenure, and it's better for me than when Passanante was around. I imagine it's tough when most of them are recurring and you're forced to write 4 days a week for the likes of Nina, Franco, etc. and basically turn steaming pile of poo into something watchable. She definitely tries. Edited December 31, 20186 yr by KMan101

The Phelps regime decimated the show in alot of ways but they appear to be better at writing fast paced intresting storylines compared to the Valentini team, despite the mob saturation..example: The Metro Court Saga. The advantaige I'll give the current team though is that they're better at acknowledging history (despite re writes) and utilizing the vets even if their writing is messy. 2019 new years resolutions for GH: slim the cast, only use players with actual storylines, stop stunt casting, use dimmer lighting, stop making Jason so passive and calm...give the charachter some energy and drive in getting Sam back... make like the B&B and bring back your best opening sequence...the 'Faces of the Heart' intro, and continue to air classic episodes on holidays. Frank and the writers need to be fired for that to happen
