The 50's soap A Time To Live has a character named Greta Powers!

Made me think of characters over the years with the same name.

Ben Jerrod had John Abbott as did Y&R

Laura Spencer (Horton) on DOOL and Laura Webber(Spencer) on GH

Both AW and LOL had a character named John Randolph at the same time.

Can anyone add to this list?

How cool about Greta. I have to admit that I had never heard of this show.

AW and The Doctors both had a Missy Palmer (Carol Roux on AW and later, Somerset, and Dorian Lopinto on TD).

How about Felicia?

Felicia Gallant - AW

Felicia Forrester - B&B

Felicia Cummings Jones Scorpio - GH

Felicia Boudreau - GL

Felicia Fleming Lamont - LOL

Felicia Dalton - SB

I believe the first 3 Felicias were on air at the same time which was weird as it is not such a common name.

Ashley remained a Y&R exclusive, apart from AMC at one time I think?

Tiffany didn't find favor. Only EON and SB come to mind.

There was Tiffany on GH, but yeah you'd have thought there would have been more.

Thanks for reminding me,don'y know how I gorgot Ms Hill.

Underused

Rita

Denise

Marilyn

Apart from Rita Bauer on GL I can't think of many examples of any of these names over the years.

Both ATWT and DOOL had a Paul Stewart.

There was Rita Jacks Harrington on Return to Peyton Place. As for Ashley, there was Ashley Linden Marshall on Texas. And I just today remembered Ashley Bennett on The Doctors.

Did we have surnames that were overused? Both AMC and GL had Hispanic families with the last name Santos at the same time.

The only Denise I can think of is ATWT’s Denise Darcy who turned out to be Tad Channing’s murderer.

ATWT also had Denise Maynard

GH briefly had a Rita, mother of Frisco and Tony.

Doug Marland used the name Howard Lansing on GH and ATWT. Wonder why?

Michelle was underused.Only Michelle Bauer was ever a main character with that name.

Re surnames

Martin was quite popular

AMC Joe/Tara/Tad etc

DOOL David/Helen etc

OLTL Jonathan Martin

SFT Doug/Suzi etc

Found 2 more characters with the same name

EON had a character named Terry De Marco (played by Anna Minot) back in 1959. Signy Coleman played a character using that name on GL in the 00's.

Jack Scott was a character on OLTL (Carla's husband)late 70's and ATWT in 184 played by Ed Moore.
