With Mal Young's writing? Both. We will lucky if they don't end up lovers. 

There's no difference between Abby and Summer.  In fact, the same actor could play both characters, and no one (not even the audience) would know or care.

As one of the few fans of hers here I'm glad she's back 

Sooooooo boring. Between Kyle, Abby, Kyle and Lily the next generation is looking sad. Shame you don’t have Colleen around anymore to balance things out. 

At least it will hopefully mean a break from constant Mariah.

Overall, I like the character and the actress.

 

BUT...

 

I'm digging the vibe between Abby and Arturo at the moment. And if Summer somehow ends up taking away the minimal time for Mariah, I'll be annoyed.

We shall see.

Never gonna happen. She will be on constantly with them too.

Unless the show commits to pairing Mariah with women she's gonna be fighting for airtime.

 

The only men in her age range are Kyle & Arturo.

 

And with Arturo busy with Abby there's really nothing else for Mariah to do especially now that Hevon is slowly reuniting and GC Buzz has become a non issue.

Mal probably brought her back just to silence the Muhney-nutbags who are still trying to get him back on the show.  In that case, there is an upside, after all.

Mariah is not hurting for airtime. Even without her own romance and story she's not being ignored.
