He mentioned both in his acceptance speech.

I miss Elizabeth Hubbard so much!:( (*sniffs*).

Thank you!! Glad he gave them both shout-outs. He is the first DAYS actor to win in the Lead category since the late, great Macdonald Carey in 1975.

It would be great to see Liz Hubbard in a new role. I love watching her in The Doctors reruns every day.

Congrats to DAYS :)

You'd think they would've thanked Scott McKinsey for directing the episodes that won the Emmy for outstanding show but instead they thanked awful Albert Alar.

Happy for Eileen Davidson.

She's won Lead Actress for both DAYS and Y&R. How many actresses have won Lead Actress in daytime for different shows?

I was happy to see Liz Hubbard again, but that outfit was courtesy House of Beetlejuice.

At 84, she was probably like "Eff this, I'm going for comfort...it's not like they're gonna acknowledge World Turns anyway".

Susan Flannery being the other one, I think.

Wish someone would hire Liz....one of the other soaps left....except for GH......love to see her again on a soap even for a short run.

You're right. Thanks.

I think it would have to be a short term gig...she is firmly settled on the East Coast and at her age, I don't see her moving cross-country. What was the award that she and Martha presented?

I'd kind of like someone to post separate clips of some of the speeches.

I thought that Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes kind of landed a deft rebuke of the notion that soaps only exist as escapism and also advocated for the writing to reflect the times that we are actually living in.

As long as it was, I'd like to see that speech again.

Liz Hubbard was there because she won for "The Doctors", it wasn't about ATWT. That said she can wear what she wants.

I know that, even though having Martha Byrne by her side was clearly supposed to be some type of nod to her time on ATWT.

I posited that because she knew it wasn't going to be about her longest running daytime acting job, she probably nixed getting all dressed up for this event.

Still no actress of color to win Lead Actress and I believe Debbi Morgan is the only one to be nominated (three times).

Best Actress was the award they presented as both Martha and Liz won that honor. The use of "darling" made me laugh. It was about ATWT with Martha there, but Martha was making it all about Liz.
