Y&R April Spoilers

blahblahlah, they are trying to play up the verbal abuse aspect because they know the physical abuse aspect is basically non-existent. He "choked" her but she slapped him in the same scene, so what's good? It's one thing to go ahead and pursue/execute a storyline like this, but it is a whole nother to halfheartedly ATTEMPT this kind of SL in the way Y&R has. It's an insult to those of us that have actually experienced abuse.

i mean they keep playing up the "he pushed Victor down the stairs, omg!" angle of this story as well, when anyone that watched saw Victor beating the crap out of JT a few minutes earlier and JT only pushed Vic out of self-defence/knee-jerk reaction. So, really... what's good?

PS: get a grip, or please continue to ignore my posts.

YOU get a grip. YOU will NOT BULLY ME.....She also did not slap him. I have the episode saved and many who saw know she only tried to get away from him...He manipulated her to believe otherwise.

You ignore my posts. You cannot bully me or anybody else. Who are you to disrespect anybody who did nothing to you? You are childish and immature. You seem to think you need to get the last word????

she is continually slapping him and he's telling her to stop, but because he's a "big strong man" who cares, right?

and let me refresh your memory of this gem:

omg, Victoria is sooooo abusive! But wait...  So, you'll forgive me if I'm not falling for this bs, misogynist lazy writing. At no point in this storyline was Victoria ever portrayed or played as a victim, except to push the nonsense abuse aspect to BYSTANDERS (Sharon, her mom, and Phyl). I mean in Hawaii Victoria had ALL the power, even told JT to eff off and came back to Genoa City.

Hilary is already ruined. What this lie ruins is Devon and Hilary's romance for good.

But I lean more towards her world rocked being that Hilary finding out she's not pregnant after she thought she was and attempted to use the baby to control Devon. Further pushing him away and ending their little reunion this go round. This moves her on to Kyle so she can play Bonnie and Clyde with him until he eventually dumps her for summer/Mariah.

Whatever it is, it will involve a scheme and manipulation by Hilary that will blow up in her face.

Whatever occured between Vikki and Lily/Abby/Ashley doesn't mean that Vikki can't be abused by JT. It's like your saying Vikki deserved what JT did because she was mean to some others at work.

I would like for Hillary to just move on, but it will Devon and only him to do this. he keeps giving her chance after chance the fouler she gets.

as for that poster, yes. they have been saying that Vicki is at fault for JT's horrible behavior. where that person got that from is beyond me.  blamingg an abused person for the abuser's behavior.....can never get behind that.

nope. What I'm saying is how can we as viewers draw a line? Do we take what we are seeing as evidence, or are we just supposed to believe what characters tell us is happening? How are we supposed to label JT an abuser but ignore Victoria oe Victor's own abusive behaviour? Um, hello?

as for the Hilary stuff - it's obvious they're not gonna make her do anything too terrible, as exemplified by Lily being an obstacle for her/Devon's relationship. I'm sure what "rocks" her will be some sort of Lily/Cane scheme.

I hope that Hilary is able to have children ?(and is in good health) but maybe we will find out that she isn't. I definitely wonder what is going on with her.

Here's a few more Hilary/Devon spoilers that someone posted on Daytime Royalty's website for an article.

Hilary is going to try and mend fences with Devon by offering to go over business plans with him. Devon is not going to want to really be around her. He is going to tell Tessa to take Hilary to dinner to discuss the business plans instead. It looks Tessa/Hilary will go to the athletic club where Hilary will see Devon and Simone together. Hilary is going to try and interfere with their date and then faint and will wonder if she's pregnant.

I wonder how Devon will react to this information and if it will cross his mind that Hilary is pregnant. (Even if she isn't.) Maybe we will see Hilary go to the Doctor and get some information about her health.

But who is ignoring Victoria and Victor's behavior, though? Who says that Victor isn't an abusive man or that Victoria hasn't don't dirt to others. Neither negates that JT is wrong.

That lily and cane drama seemed a story bridge of sorts. I'm fairly sure that Hilary will be the villain to her own story coming up. Lily's role will be saying "I knew I was right". That's been the dynanic for years now. I doubt this arc is a departure from that.

Devon will assume Hilary is faking more than likely. The show seems insistent on having him appear smart where she's concerned (drawing up a contract) but only succeeds in making him look stupid (having a baby with a woman that he feels he has to draw up the contract with in the first place).

you can't villanise a character for behaving the same way numerous characters (in the same storyline, mind you) are behaving. That's just lazy storytelling, gender/character bias, and crapping on viewers in general. Ew.

as for Hilary... nah. I feel like the writers are truly trying to free Hilary from being "messy" herself, and she will be a character that more oft than not will be finding herself in mess as it were. And I do believe this is only the beginning of Lily sheming... the door has been opened, and the actress probably likes the idea of playing a more layered character. I think she probs won't be able to conceive/will get ovarian cancer, or something. And then the little sis she's sponsoring will get pregnant (by Charlie?) and Hilary will raise that baby... probably keep it secret that Charlie's the father (Lily and them will find out later...)

Look. I have stopped watching her story because IMPO she's shot to hell.

Karma can come in other ways except flipping out and grabbing a woman by her throat, after she was told by the man's former wife that he lost his good sense after a series of crises.

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
    • The Bell soaps, B&B and Y&R: cannot watch. If I went by the last time I did I would have to give them both D- but I really don't think it counts when you're not a daily watcher.  DAYS: B+ (Now this is with the knowledge that for years I have given this show a D- because I've been a fan for too long to give it the F it deserved.) GH: A+ (With Korte driving this bus to me the show is so much better! IMO we just had the best NB in so many years I cannot count!) BTG: A solid (Things I love, a few I do not, nothing I hate, still find it in general remarkable.) As always, thanks for doing this thread. I count it. I always look for it & I always post.
    • Okay, I continue to maintain that what is so good about this particular reveal followed by umbrella storyline is that you can see & understand many different points of view where there is not one bad guy or one 100% right person.  About your stated opinion, that Lois & Gloria did the right thing, you know that this was technically an illegal adoption? For it to have been legal the father, if known, would have to have been informed & have signed off on terminating his own paternal rights. And, of course, it is clear how many people they lied to.  Personally I feel like Lois is going to take the biggest "public" blame with Lulu a close second in the blame category. I am looking forward to a tongue lashing I hope Brook Lynn gives to Gloria. I continue to be more than annoyed with Dante. First his attitude toward Gio with regards to Rocco & a drinking game & its results. Second his attitude toward Lulu. Meanwhile enjoying the show every day!
    • Lois and Gloria did the right thing I feel knowing it was Camila that raised Gio has BL feeling some jealousy No one is saying that Camila was a bad mother to Gio I believe it will be Gio saying that Camila was great to him, thanking Lois and Gloria to get BL to see truth
    • Its realistic for Dani and  true of how the character thinks and operates. We've known her long enough to by that this would be consistent with her past characterizatioin
    • Random takes: - What was even the point of that jeweler guy? Also—Dani was borderline harassing him. - I know I’m probably in the minority here, but I want Jacob and Kat to happen. I need something messy to completely dismantle the Duprees—and Katomas just isn’t cutting it.  - I officially can’t stand Jacob and his wife. Same goes for Anita and Vernon. - Hayley’s corset was just as ugly as it looked uncomfortable. - I genuinely don’t remember when or how Derek and Ashley reconciled—and I’m someone who didn’t even mind their storyline! LMAO. - Tuesday’s episode was a mess. - Dani finding out about Hayley’s pregnancy and immediately thinking, “She’s faking it”—huh?! What writer thought that was a realistic reaction? I get denial, but that leap was absurd. I agree the ‘Leslie Victorious’ moment was way OTT. But hey, at least I wasn’t yawning. The following episode, where she handed over her daughter’s last few belongings was much better. - I can’t with the constant back-and-forth between Orphey Gene’s and the Country Club. I forgot this was such a soap trope, but even back in my loyal viewer days (late ‘90s, early 2000s), it wasn’t this bad. While GH has a ton of beautiful sets, we’re stuck with the same three—and half of them are ugly. Also: it’s been way too long since we had a party, gala, or any kind of event. I know the Richardsons’ anniversary gala (back in late April) has had a big ripple effect, but I was kinda getting used to those large-scale episodes. Fingers crossed they don’t go with Guza.
    • The horrific comments execs and writers make when they justify rape storylines or keeping rapists as love interests is just so icky. I remember Ron Carlivati's comments about the reraping of Marty storyline on OLTL. Made my skin crawl.  No matter what you think of her, Susan Lucci could have demanded front burner storylines but she never did. She was happy to be part of an ensemble. I never got that vibe from Zimmer.  For me, Reva was just not a character I cared that much about after a certain point no matter how talented Zimmer is/was. I think Zimmer had a keener eye for what made a good storyline, but she was less willing to take a backseat if it meant someone else got to shine. I'm trying to recall if she ever mentions Michelle Forbes in her book--one of the few times the viewers did not care about Reva in a storyline. My sense is if she did, it was probably some backhanded remark about how she had to show Forbes the ropes.
